FTFA:

In the book, Clinton says she was put in a "straightjacket" during the primary by former President Obama

Does anyone know how to spell "straitjacket" correctly? I know since people understand it anyway it's the same for all intensive purposes, but that's still one of my pet peaves. I wait with baited breath for someone to fix it.

Jeebus. Who HASN'T she blamed for losing? I've seen her blame Obama, Biden, Sanders, Trump, Bernie Bros, sexism, racism, Russian hackers, voter fraud, the FBI and the GOP. But unless I missed it she still hasn't accepted a shred of responsibility for her own campaign.

Was that during the 2008 primaries?  Because yeah, she might've been the first, but not the last.

"None of this is good for the party," said one former Obama aide. "It's the Hillary Show, 100 percent."

So they've just now figured out that Hillary doesn't care about anything but Hillary? I figured that out back in about 1995.

We should talk about this more, I'm sure that's what this topic needs.

"The best thing she could do is disappear," said one former Clinton fundraiser and surrogate who played an active role at the convention. "She's doing harm to all of us because of her own selfishness. Honestly, I wish she'd just shut the f--- up and go away."

It's pretty telling that this person chooses to remain nameless. What's he/she afraid of?

Who?  I voted Clinton both times last year, but too many people have decided she's untrustworthy and there's no coming back from that now.  Who do we have that's electable, politically talented, a good campaigner, able to govern and in-tune with what the country wants?

Seriously, there isn't anyone on either side of the aisle. The Dems don't have anyone that's really electable (on a national scale) and the GOP is in the process of eating itself alive and alienating its base by being Never Trumpers.

Because of smear campaigns. Do you think that the Republicans are just going to stop doing that now that they know it works?

Who do we have that's electable, politically talented, a good campaigner, able to govern and in-tune with what the country wants?

The question is: why do you have to be so "all or nothing" about this?

Why can't you just vote for someone qualified for the job, and stop wishing for unicorns?

Not mad at you specifically, but I really wish progressives would ditch the farking attitude and do their part to re-elect the Democratic majority.

And you're not going to do it by ignoring the Democratic Party's accomplishments as a party, and insisting on throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

I mean, Christ, we've known this since the Convention.
Trump needs to be DEFEATED. That means you put your goddamned idealism on the back burner, and get to farking work locally and regionally to do your part to rebuild the Democratic Party majority.

The DNC doesn't trust their base, despite the fact that the last 3 Democrat presidents were outliers who were good presidents. Carter, Clinton and Obama were all outsiders the powers that be of the DNC thought were the wrong choice and just in the primaries to "round out the ticket" They think they know better than their base who can win on a national level.
