FTFA: "Price defended the police who arrested Heyman, saying they "did what they felt was appropriate."

I think it'd be appropriate to beat Tom Price with a shovel. Do my feelings justify me actually doing it?

Arrest and charges were too stupid for even Trump-crazy West Virginia to swallow. That tells you all you need to know about how stupid it was.

And this is why we need a free press.  Assholes like this who think they shouldn't be questioned or answer to anyone should be drawn and quartered over a 5 course meal.

Who would have guessed that an adminstration that routinely calls out a free press as an enemy of the state would resort to fascistic tactics like arresting reporters?

Well, the police are sworn to uphold their delicate feelings because they're omniscient arbiters of justice with no biases. They're essentially Hume's True Judge or Aristotle's Virtuous Man, but with, you know, military grade arsenals.

Yeah, about that.  Jefferson Beauregard has already signaled that he'll just keep retrying the case until he gets the decision he wants.

Of course. You can't suppress dissent without intimidation, and she's clearly not yet intimidated. She laughed at the ruling class, and after her railroaded conviction, had the misdemeanor verdict (rightfully) tossed. Sessions, of course, cannot let that stand - she must be taught to fear the government and respect his authority.

Any time someone scoffs at the idea of fascism creeping into American government, just point to this kind of shiat and ask, "...explain this, then." They're trying to use "public disruption" and similar charges to suppress First Amendment rights.

They're afraid of being contradicted or outright shamed in public. Elected officials that are supposedly accountable to their constituents hide from them instead, refusing to attend public events lest their lies and dissemblance be mocked, and some, like Sessions and Price, are even hoping to get away with a bit of intimidation if it means silencing those who would contradict their so-called masters.

Sessions is being vindictive and petty (surprise!). He's going to try to bankrupt the woman. Is there a fund for her defense?
It's not like the Justice Department doesn't have better things for his lawyers to do.

Bannon, Gorka, Mrs. Gorka, Richard Spencer, Christopher Cantwell, Trump...we all know what you're trying to do to this country. And this guy kicked your asses using a lawyer in a West Virginia courthouse. Buh hah hah hah hah. You didn't think your little world domination plan through too well, did you? Maybe the problem is in your genes.

BTW you little white supremacist, neo Nazis, Heyman? Think about the possibilities of who this enemy that defeated your attempt to silence the press. The name doesn't sound Irish-Catholic is all I'm saying.

No, his feelings don't justify him beating Tom Price with a shovel. Tom Price being worthless slime is what justifies Tom Price being beaten with a shovel.

Should be able to sue for false arrest.  It would stop this from happening.

Too many times the GOP are cowards and have dissenters removed/arrested and the result is the GOP can go on with their life thinking everyone loves them

You know, maybe if you want to be a journalist, you could follow the protocol.  Plenty of people are able to put the screws onto a person without having to holler.

Take the idiot outside and leave him there, no need to arrest him.

"Aggressive journalism" is what we desperately need right now.

To go further, this nation needs another Hunter S. Thompson.  We need someone to get into the thick of it and give the public a long, agonizing look at the bowels of our society.
We've gotten too soft.
