R(E-tard)s rule the House, Senate, & White House and still need the Dems to bend over and take one to get these rock star immigrants legal?!? ARE YOU FARKING KIDDING ME!?!
Canada will take the lot. Pretty much no questions asked.. They are already vetted, upstanding humans...
I look forward to the flood of 2018 Dem ads with the ICE clowns gleefully arresting these often well paid taxpayers to kick them out to somewhere they don't know, so that Cleatus, Billy Bob, Little Ricky & Trip, that never finished High School, but were born here and white as a ghost, can get that 'stolen gig' at Microsoft or SpaceX or in the emergency room... O_o

So you mean Republicans don't care about Dreamers at all then?

2017-09-06 09:44:44 PM
I'm not sure if you've ever actually read anything about Trump, but you literally cannot make a deal with him. It can't happen. He doesn't understand the concept. You would have more luck brokering deals between frogs and scorpions.

So I actually took a look at the article. There is so much in just this first paragraph that I can't make it to the rest.

President Donald J. Trump is the most pragmatic president in decades. He has made it abundantly clear that he is both a deal maker and feels compassion for children of undocumented immigrants. If Democrats actually care about them, now is the time to put down Twitter and stop raging on television. Come to the table to make a deal to save the Dreamers alongside the president and Republicans. Come to the table to govern.

Of course, this is all explained at the end of the article.

Democrats, why do you make Daddy hit you?  Daddy doesn't like to hit you.  But Daddy has to hit you when you don't do what Daddy says.

2017-09-06 09:54:45 PM
Yes, absolutely. Splitting up almost 1,000,000 families and deporting some of the highest achieving and most productive Americans is totes the Democrats fault.

Yup.

2017-09-06 09:55:09 PM
Great idea. He's got a long, trustworthy track record for keeping his end of agreements.

The Hill turned into Republican propaganda so gradually I hardly noticed...

Not if he's just using them as leverage for a wall.

Maybe the Democratic leaders are waiting for the check to clear before making a deal with Trump?

He's not even doing that. He already shot the hostage.

isn't it slightly humorous the conversation is around a highly suspect executive order that directly resulted from congress' inaction on a problem that congress will likely leave unresolved yet again?

shouldn't the anger be directed at the do-nothing legislative branch?

There's no deal making to be done here. This isn't a 'we get something-you get something' kind of situation. The dreamers deserve to stay and there should be no negotiation about that.

2017-09-06 10:33:35 PM
What a bunch of malarkey.

Two Scoops just did it so he can appease to his ever-shrinking base; even Paul Ryan and Orrin Hatch support it.

Okay I got passed pragmatic, I soldiered on through "he's a deal maker", I puked in my mouth a little (but kept reading) at "he clearly cares about the dreamers", but I smashed my phone and kicked my dog when I read "concede to building the wall". Look the wall is not a policy tool of the sane. Hyperbole, bluster, ignorance, and incompetence we must accept for 1,124 more days but throwing away billions on the stupidest, most counter productive, and ineffective idea President micro digits has ever had is not an option.

2017-09-06 10:35:39 PM
In about one year I expect to see Republicans challenge Democrats to work with Trump on Climate Change. "We would have worked with President Obama if he wasn't so bent on politicizing the issue."

2017-09-06 10:35:40 PM
There was a Democratic Congressman on one of the news shows tonight talking about how Congress tried to get legislation through a few years ago, basically providing a pathway to citizenship for the "dreamers."  It actually got passed in the House, but ran into trouble in the Senate because they were unable to get the number of votes necessary (by ONE) for cloture.

The person in the Senate leading the effort to stop the vote?  Jeff Sessions.  The Dems actually had the numbers for passage in the Senate as well, but couldn't get it past the committee and/or senate rules to be able to get an actual vote on the bill.

Um, actually, according to this Washington Post article (soft paywall) and CNN article, not only has Trump just sided with Pelosi and Schumer on disaster relief and "a 90-day extension of both the day-to-day funding of the government and the debt ceiling", but also this:

"Trump also threw tacit support behind the Democrats' push for a "dreamers" bill that would effectively formalize an Obama-era program shielding undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children from deportation."

fark your mother. You don't want to govern despite winning the election? Go fark yourself. shiatmonkeys. You won. You lead. You own it. You don't horse trade with innocent people's lives when the risk of not changing a farking thing practically non existant.

And if horse trading is what you are expecting, you're even larger pieces of shiat what was previously imagined.
