Ah, one of those times when he's projecting about something someone else did because he's done, or is doing, something ten times worse.

his dinkiness has sworn to eliminate ALL Obama programs and policies, with no regard for their usefulness or benefits, and certainly no regard for any "little people" who get burned in the process

I would agree to call Trump the billionaire he says he is if he could name just one of Obama's executive orders that he erased.

2017-09-05 01:56:28 PM
You can argue that executive power has increased, but really it is a decrease in legislative power that we are seeing. If congress was functioning as intended the executive wouldn't need to govern for them.

Came here to say stuff that's already been said, so I'll just add this: stop making me agree with John McCain, dammit.

Of course Trump's are OK.  He's not...... Hawaiian.

"Because you need me, America. Your guilty conscience may move you to vote Democratic, but deep down you long for a cold-hearted Republican to lower taxes, brutalize criminals, and rule you like a king. That's why I did this, to save you from yourselves. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a fire truck to sit in"

That's what I came here to say.  Didn't Obama issue that because R-congress was in a "everything Obama do be bad" mode....to the point of zero cooperation and voting against their own damn legislation if Obama was suddenly for it?

Th unconstitutional one.

Trump is reducing the power of the presidency, alright.  When he's finally done, I suspect a lot of the toys he has now will be gone.

He did manage to alienate almost 800,000 DACA enrollees, however, and likely pissed off most everyone who knows them.  I bet a lot of them are going to vote in the mid-terms, too.

Yup. and it's been going on since FDR. Congressmen realized it's a lot easier to get re-elected if you can pass the buck to the President in case things go wrong, so they gradually became more and more comfortable with pushing their constitutional responsibilities (taxation, war powers, etc) off on the executive.

I hope so. But the pessimist in me knows there's a lot of assholes out there who think along the lines of "Trump's right, those people are monsters. Except for Sammy of course, he was one of the few good ones. But the rest ... blech."

Of course, Sessions did not bother to point that out in his speech.  He just called it executive overeaxh and not what the Founding Fathers had planned

Last I checked, John McCain, unlike Trump, is part of the group that has exclusive power under the Constitution to extend DACA. Maybe he should stop whining about other people and do it?

Ok, what if I ask a reasonable person?  None of those guys even scratches the surface of Trump (although I admittedly know less about the 1st 3).  Trump has given me a newfound respect for Nixon.  That had been my standard barer bad guy.
