Would subby rather he just bomb them?

There genuinely isn't a better option.

Well that isn't entirely true. But an actual solution would involve a combination of carrots and sticks and making nice with many other countries and doing things that his base won't see as a 'win' or MAGA.

You know how they hate the Iran deal so much. Well, Iran doesn't have nukes because of the deal. Sometimes there is a greater good in the long game.

I'm impressed with his restraint. I'm pretty liberal and I mostly dislike Trump, but if he can keep acting reasonably, I might change my mind about him.

Have... have you been following the situation? His attempts to deal with it have been trying to twitter scare China and South Korea.

"I said here's the problem with NATO: it's obsolete," Mr. Trump said, recounting his comments. "Big statement to make when you don't know that much about it, but I learn quickly."

Trump, April 2016.

Do you think Trump has dozens of people holding him down while he says "Lemme at 'em!!" reaching for the nuclear button?

I imagine he's either a farking moron who thinks violence solves everything, or is being prodded by Putin into an act of great national self-harm.

He's an affluenza sufferer that has no concept of actions having consequences.

I also believe he literally thought that being president meant he could do whatever he wants. He was probably shocked when the courts stopped his Muslim ban. I could hear him yelling at his staff "but I'm the president!".

His complete lack of understanding of how the US government works has been evident for years.
"Obama needs to do this." "Obama needs to do that". Well, most of the time, you can't just "do things".
It doesn't work that way.

He wants to be Kim, he wants to be Duterte. That's what I really believe he thought, in his mind, that being president would be like that. He's getting a crash course in civics and it makes him pants poopingly ragey.

The nuclear football probably has the word "Heal" in its password, he's finally given up trying to use it.

/and if it doesn't have the word "Heal" in its password, someone should probably get on that

I guess you forgot all about Trumpy's Fire and Fury tirade. Subby is saying trump is a flip-flopping scum bucket who can't be trusted.

Remember, he gets all his news from Fox and Brietbart.  He's been told for years that Obama was an out of control dictator with no checks on his power.  He thought he'd be the same.

Are we seriously going to let Trump look reasonable by attacking him for doing the least bad thing he could in the situation?

Many of you don't know this, but the UN writes the best letters, the best.

2017-09-04 12:56:44 PM
I thought Trump and friends hated the U.N. and wanted to get us out of it. Guess that's one more thing to add to the party of personal hypocrisy's list...

This is what we want him to do. Save your scorn for whatever he starts popping off with this week.

Yeah, but it's gonna be a strongly worded letter! With strongest, most bestest words!

Trump is a bullshiatter.   All bluster, no substance.  A coward at heart.

As scary as his rhetoric is, and we do have to take it seriously, there are likely at least a couple of smart people in his cabinet that would temper his fire and fury talk to prevent his from truly farking us all.  And by all, I mean the world.

I'm glad he's flip flopped in this case.

Unless you want the US to unilaterally start an illegal war when it hasn't been attacked, going through the UN is the proper procedure. See Iraq, Syria, etc.

/doesn't mean attacking Best Korea is a good idea.

They fire ICBMs across Japan. They blow up nukes on their own territory. As long as these are separate activities, there's not much to be done other than sternly-worded letters. The question is whether the next escalation is to start launching nuclear weapons over or onto population centres; in that case, the calculus changes substantially.

2017-09-04 01:02:43 PM
Yeah, actually I'm pretty fine with this. It's better than him beating his chest, then catching his breath and ordering a coke, a ham and pineapple pizza, and a nuclear strike.

Ah, but you see, this is a repeat of Trump's handling of every single farking situation, international or domestic.  His less retarded employees will do something like this and within 48 hours he'll completely undermine, contradict, or cancel it.

Likely on Twitter.

Expect to see at 4 am Eastern tomorrow:
"The UN is sad, weak, completely failed organization.  The only thing that will stop Korea will be bombs.  #maga #makingamicagreatagain #hugehands"

Have they figured out the reentry part yet? IIRC the one that flew over Japan burned up on reentry.
Do the ones they launch into the see even make it out of the atmosphere?

Its just a pile of paperwork

Amp up the rhetoric: Trump's a warmonger who'll start WWIII. Go thru diplomatic UN channels: Trump's a sissy poseur. God, you hankie-wringers are funny.

This is just maneuvering to get a Trump sign on top of the UN HQ.

No, just pointing out someone who has spent the last several years letting his mouth write checks his ass can't cash.

Should this be a surprise to anyone? After all..
