Does that mean we can take him out to the curb to be taken away with the other detritus?

Congress isn't harassing the DOJ investigations much, just a few words here and there to keep the masses entertained. They're waiting for something big they can use and will probably get it otherwise they wouldn't be waiting so patiently.

They have to know they're not getting anything done and being in his party is hurting their chance of being reelected

And to them, I say, quoting said national disaster: "HAVE FUN".

Remember how we were told by trump supporters, mainly trying to convince themselves, that he would pivot and act dignified in office. Good times, good times.

Donald Trump is the corroded albatross hood ornament clinging with one loose screw to the hood of the beat up pick-em-up truck covered with unsanded Bondo and mis-colored panels careening down an unfinished freeway flyover, moments before soaring over the exposed-rebar edge while one Illinois Nazi passenger proclaims his love for another. Let's not mince words.

Bush felt like a totally different level of emergency.  "W" failed upwardly, consistently.  You knew he had a legitimate belief in his faith and whether we agreed with it or not his actions were largely guide by that.  He was more of an experiment in bringing in an extremist that had a handle on the reality of his surroundings.  And there were moments where he could actually display genuine compassion and comprehension of situations.  I didn't agree with him on many things but I at least felt he was conferring with people who were knowledgeable even if they had an agenda at times.

With Trump it's just consistently the grandest worst case scenario.  Appointees are almost consistently either wildly ignorant of the departments they oversee or they have a financial interest in the department not being run a certain way.

I guess it's ignorant versus malicious.  The difference is that ignorant can learn.  Malicious just doesn't care and has another agenda to serve.

I gave Donald Trump a real, honest chance. I though maybe his bluster is just to rile up the Klan demographic, and he'll tone it down after the election. I was optimistic after his inauguration speech. The switch for me came the morning of Jan 27 when he tried to push through the first "travel ban," I send Lizard People Sr. (a devout MAGAtholic) a text saying that his chance was up, and he was either stupid or malicious, or both.

Senior still thinks I'm a flaming communist for not giving him "enough of a chance."

They do. Problem is, all of the alternatives also hurt their chances one way or another, including the possibility that Trump takes his followers and schisms off into another party. They'd follow him.

It's a matter of calculating what hurts least. Right now, all signs point to letting Mueller finish compiling his smoking-gun presentation.

Yea, my Dad still supports him, too.  Well, he did prior to Charlottesville.   I don't know where he stands with it, now.  I'm afraid to ask, honestly.

Good news: I did. I gave Donald Trump 24 hours after the inauguration to speak against the Russian attacks of 2016. He had already the attacks were factual on January 11th. Impeach.

Mine's position is that both Nazis and people who oppose Nazis are bad, and everyone needs to stop being mean to Donald-senpai. Also it wasn't white supremacists in Charlottesville, that's MSM lamestream fake news. Also, Obama was Schrodinger's President, simultaneously a lackadaisical empty suit and a shadowy manipulator pulling the Deep State's strings.

I never gave Trump a chance. I knew he was a horrific excuse of a human being who shouldn't be close to the presidency for three or four major different reasons before you got to the fact that he seemed to be completely in hock to the Russians. That much of my extended family on both sides voted for this abhorrent cyst is beyond me and I'm about through with them as people.

What's holding the GOP back? At this stage it's most likely a combination of FSB kompromat and the prospect of being primaried out by Redcap true believers if they make any serious attempt to remove /theirguy/.

"We are one nation -- and their pain is our pain. Their dreams are our dreams; and their success will be our success. We share one heart, one home, and one glorious destiny. The oath of office I take today is an oath of allegiance to all Americans." - Agent Orange, inauguration day.

My optimism was based more or less on that line. I live in a fairly "reactive" area when it comes to politics, I was just hoping the seething freaking hatred would go away once (side) won the election and people would return to normal. The language Trump used in his inauguration struck me as advocating for the same thing- we are all Americans.

We will survive a Trump presidency... just like we have other bad presidents.  The question is whether or not the Democrats will grow up and act like adults...so far they are acting like spoiled children who are mad their parents that denied them a present.

I still can't get over the rift my father caused between himself and his middle daughter (always his favorite) when she called me sobbing that he was voting for Trump and didn't care about any of us, especially me and my youngest sister who both have similar mental issues that need therapy and medicine and severe, acute migraines. If she couldn't get through to him, I have no idea who could have.
