Except that was a non-conference game. Don't worry though. They'll have plenty of time for losing.

Maybe Sumlin and Butch have a big bet on who gets fired first.

I'm less surprised that A&M coughed up the lead than I am it was UCLA who capitalized on it.

They just ran out of time.
I feel kind of sorry for Rosen though. His heroics may have just ensured that a Brinks truck will show up at his door, but the truck will have a Jets logo on it.

Got damn it!  I left at the start of the fourth.  Parking lot was going nuts though.  It was pretty cool hearing the roar of the stadium and then see what they were cheering about on tv 3 seconds later.

There were a crapload of good non-conference games to start off the year. I really don't remember it being like this before. I hope it continues. Nothing thrills me less than watching Oregon put up 77 points on Southern Utah.

To be fair, after last year I thought Oregon v S. Utah could be a coin flip. I'm pleasantly surprised to see they're not THAT bad.

As an Aggies fan I am sad. Also, as an Aggies fan I understand that this is what Aggies do so it isn't disappointing but simply confirmation.

As a human being I am happy to have this to point towards for certain jackasses. So I was wrong concerning WMU - USC? WMU had no shot even if they didn't essentially cede the game by not going for the block against a blind snapper? Yeah, a team down by two scores, with two timeouts, and who is getting the ball back with over three minutes to work with should just fold up the tent right?

phimuskapsi and bingethinker, your apologies have not yet been delivered. I'm sure they're right around the corner though, don't injure yourselves in your haste to tell me I was right and you were wrong.

Comebacks can happen, even if a team isn't playing Texas A&M. Against Texas A&M they're guaranteed.

Oregon always could score a lot of points, and they let their defense slide because they could usually outscore anybody. If they gave up fifty yards less a game last year they would've been in a bowl somewhere.
They have a long way to go, but even though they played Southern Utah they had their moments. Not saying that they're back, but there is  a glimmer of hope that this year will be better than last.

That's essentially what I said after the game. At the very least I'm hopeful that they'll have a winning season this year.

Although it was pretty funny to watch the reactions around town as they got absolutely destroyed last year.

Aggies got out coached in the 4th quarter. It's the exact opposite of the Texas loss.

Texas can't block or tackle, a&m can't coach but has a crap load of talent on the field

We can fix this!

Yeah, they've been full of themselves for a long time. I can see why people hate them.
I grew up in LA and I HATED 'SC, but the UCLA guys were just as bad. I came up here and saw the infamous "toilet bowl" game. Things were pretty bad football wise here until '94.
I started working as a technician for ABC sports then and caught all the local games  (Corvallis too) up until Mariota's sophomore year (when our insurance was negotiated away-- no way was I gonna sit on a sideline and pay for a broken leg, etc).
I think they're going in the right direction.

I think using both Louton (so?) and Garrettson will work out for OSU, and getting Tyner was HUGE. They need to stop somebody too though and PSU could've easily won that game.

Nothing anyone - including Baylor - does on the football field will distract from the shame of that team or of the NCAA for not severing ties with that university.

Checked in a few times same deal and I'm fully ready to admit I jumped on that rally bandwagon after tuning back and it was up to 44-31 but damn that was an exciting finish to watch, blocked FG and multiple TDs and all.

Because of the final score and deficit, I recalled the 2014 wildcard game between the Chiefs and Colts.  At least this time, I did not bet a beer on the losers holding the lead, lest I lose a bottle of w00stout

As a fan of neither team, that last touchdown could have gone either way. Looked like he was bobbing the ball. If the call on the field is incomplete, it would stand after review.

Rosen has a good arm and seems to make good decisions (unlike Hundley who was dumb as a brick), but UCLA's O-line blew chunks last year and didn't defend him well.  I was kind of sad for him, he might be great with better protection.  But truth is, even considering the bad protection, he didn't really handle the pressure well.

The two teams had an agreement that USC wouldn't contend the first PAT attempt if WMU wouldn't contend the blind long snapper's attempt if it occurred. This gave WMU the better of the bargain really, because it was possible the kid would have never seen the field.  Glad both teams stuck to their word. That was a wonderful moment.

Thanks, I hadn't known the conditions of the agreement. I'll take back my specific criticisms of WMU's coaching staff from the other thread then, good on them for honoring their word.

Though an apology was not present in your brief remarks I am satisfied with your acknowledgment that I was right. Intentionally misrepresenting the situations for each respective game so that your argument is a better one, though not reflective of the actual situation which was being contended, is confirmation enough that you realize this. Thank you.

You are deluded then. They aren't the same situation.

UCLA was down 6 with 3 minutes left. Long snapper for USC came in up 17 with 3 minutes left.

Your point - whatever it was, doesn't apply here, and it's still not correct. Let me spell it out simply.
