UNLV deserves to fail just for painting the yard numbers like they did.

App State isn't the same caliber of team since joining the FBS. They have managed to squeak out wins in their 2 bowl games since joining.

If there were only a city which allowed betting on such things.....

Who says the players can't be compensated?

If the spread was 45, Howard didn't need to score a single point to cover, and last time I checked, the bet pays the same if the spread is covered by a little or a lot.

Reminds me of people who post pics of lottery tickets where every number is off by 1 and say 'look how close this was'. Yeah. You only got every number wrong.

....and Liberty beat Baylor which a pic on the site shows it is just as big as an upset as this was.

Yeah, but here's the major difference. Howard beat UNLV all by himself.

Is it really that big of an of an upset? It's UNLV.  They lose to FCS teams almost every year.

But oh, sure, that new stadium they're going to share with the Raiders is definitely getting them into the PAC 12.

A $100 bet on Howard to win outright would have won $55000.

You can also bet on a straight-up win or loss. (The money line.) The odds on that were Howard +71,500, that is, a bet of $100 on Howard would have won $71,500.

A teaser, where you buy (or, in this case, sell) a half of a point would've paid you even money instead of paying the vig.

Most books probably wouldn't even have let you do a moneyline bet

They hired a high school coach from one of the best high school programs in the country, which just happened to be in town. It's easy to recruit there when your competition is one of the most dysfunctional school districts in the country. His brother took over for him, and on Friday they snapped their 55-game winning streak.

You're still paying the vig either way.

You can bet straight up for better odds

For example: if you bet on howard to win outright it paid at 800:1 odds

Bet $100 And you now have $80,000 in hooker and beer money

I actually think that ticket should get some kind of award. It's more impressive than getting 2 or 3 matching numbers.
