FTA: The flow from the raging river washing over the toxic site was so intense it damaged an adjacent section of the Interstate 10 bridge

EPA official (I imagine): "Well, then, I reckon it's cleaned up now."

"Good job, everyone."

I swam in the Hudson River and live next to an "inactive superfund site," so that probably explains why I am on fark right now.

I imagine it more as the bridge gets damaged, and then fine upstanding local citizens and pillars of the community declare that obviously the crisis is over, and no further burdensome meddling big-government nanny-state regulation is needed, because the free market obviously solved the problem just like it always does.

On account of, you know, Texas.

EPA not on scene

See, this just proves the EPA is useless, and it's time to eliminate the Democrat EPA. I hope Fox News can point this out within the next week. If you love Jesus and America forward this email to 10 people.

RTFA - The sites were cleaned up in the 1980's.   This is just another rinse cycle.

/ reminds me of this great song - but Mr. Gabriel was talking about a mountain in California,  not Texas river.

That'll probably tarnish the legacy of President Nixon, who created it.

Bullshiat, gramps.  If the acid ate dogs' feet, you and your  pals wouldn't have lasted ten seconds in that water.

You know, a flood zone is actually a BRILLIANT place to store hazardous chemicals!  When the flood comes they're no longer your problem!

EPA: "We're here to verify you're keeping your chemicals properly."

Company" "Oh!  About that!  Sorry!  The flood washed them all away!  Acts of God and all, you know.  Can't help that."

EPA: "... Sounds like things are in order."

I think at the end it said it was filmed in Croatia (yes, I actually watched/listened to the entire thing. Quite entertaining and led to some interesting classic rock covers with really old school instruments. The Harp Twins, lovely blonde lassies with serious harpin' skillz, for example)

Stuff like this is why I love Fark. Fark has introduced me so far to the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain (saw them live last year), Rock Sugar, Tom Jones'  Reload album (the cover of Burning Down the House with the Cardigans), and now this.

Gen-X needs to be reminded and Millenials need to be educated that this was a thing.  This complete ignorance and disdain for how humans pollute and how that pollution affects us was a culture. It's having a resurgence. We need to fix it.

The one and only time I swam in the Hudson near a Superfund site, I had a raging MRSA infection, on my scrotum, two days later.  I do not advise people to do the same.

My Dad used to tell me about where he went swimming when he was a kid when I was young, years later I was watching this PBS show and they mentioned how 2-4 people per year drowned there.  "Hey Dad guess what?  You can't complain anymore about any of the stupid things I do!"

Later when I went to college my second year I was housed in the old nursing dorm.  My Dad's first words as we get off the elevator "Hmmm, hasn't changed a bit".  "Gee Dad I seem to remember that when you went here this whole dorm was off limits for men, what were you and Mom doing up here?".

Oh, you think that toxic pollution all over the farking place is somehow unusual? Where do you think we've been putting that shiat for a couple hundred years now--In the big first world garbage can, where everything just goes away, and nobody ever has to deal with anything?

The EPA. LOL. You sound like a child. The gubmint is supposed to rescue us when we have to deal with the consequences of our free market actions. Otherwise they should just let us pollute whatever we want!
