Maybe he has a tiny shred of human decency in him. That's all I can think of, since I can't see too many people who benefit from DACA voting Republican.

Fair warning, it is an article back in March.  But the roads in Wisconsin haven't gotten any better since then, and the amount of federal transportation funding that we will be getting is a fifth of what we asked for.

Paul Ryan is not unbeatable. not by a long shot.

Hope the oozy slime of Trump's aura completely drowns him by the time Fall 2018 rolls around.

The only reason the Dreamer status was set up through an executive order instead of legislation is because Paul Ryan and his gaggle of aholes have refused to allow a law to address their situation. Pandering to the worthless deplorable racists in their party has always been more important than doing the right thing.

that, and the some in the GOP are (albeit VERY) slowly realizing that being the party of total assherty isn't a good strategy to accomplish anything.

They have control of both houses and the president and haven't passed a major bill.  This is 50% due to Trump being Trump, and 50% due to some people in the party saying, "But this law doesn't punish enough people."

No one's star has fallen more than Paul Ryan's in the Trump era. Trump and his goons are tarnished but still visible (to say the least). But Ryan has basically disappeared. He's shown himself powerless and a charisma vacuum. A non-player.

Maybe after he's done licking the Cheeto dust off his lips, he can actually oppose Trump on something instead of just not getting in his way.

And don't forget, this is the same Paul Ryan that pushed through legislation to end the lives of 50,000 U.S. Citizens by taking away their health care.

Hell, the word "Dreamer" comes from the DREAM Act, which is DACA in legislative form.  And has been consistently blocked by the GOP.

That's just probability and statistics saying 50,000 people would die, which Ryan doesn't understand.  He's not good at math.  He's the economics wonk in the GOP.

Look. It's going to cost a fortune to rebuild Houston. And a big part of that is because we don't have enough construction workers. And we don't have enough construction workers because the primary source for that labor is immigration. Legal and otherwise. Now I would prefer legal. So why don't you assholes get off your butts and create some easier legal channels? I'm real sick of the rising housing costs around here and y'all aren't helping.

Well, this.

If Congress WON'T do a thing, and the need is there, and the states have reached the limits of their individual powers...the Chief Executive MUST step in. That's why we have one. It isn't just his personal whim. Congress has turned legislating into a weird and dangerous version of oneupsmanship that has exactly nothing to do with real-world issues.

There are kids brought here as very small children who need a chance to become legal citizens. There are companies refusing to obey the Clean Air Act. There are people who can't afford health insurance. If Congress cannot or will not address these issues, and yet states laws have run afoul of Federal laws...what exactly should be done? Nothing? Let the chips fall where they may? Then why have a United States government?
