Good.
Ted Cruz didn't just vote against Hurricane Sandy aid.  He did it, and lied about why.
Then, later that same year, he asked for federal aid when the Fertilizer plant blew up.
Then, in 2015, he asked for federal aid for a flood in Houston.
Now he's back at the counter again, asking for another free drink.

Its pretty simple.  We should 100% support aid for Houston right now.  But there should be some discussion about the fact that Ted Cruz is up for re-election next year.   If the people of Texas vote to send him back to the Senate next year, then the rest of the country should tell Texas to piss off the next time they need aid.

Cruz deserves to be mocked. He (and almost every other Texas delegate) voted against aid for northerners hit by a storm. It took Congress 78 days to pass aid for Hurricane Sandy. 10 for Katrina.

To be clear, Texas needs help, and they deserve it in a timely fashion. But to you Texas Farkers, please don't vote to reelect that smarmy, hypocritical little liar Ted Cruz. He makes Texas look bad.

As pointed out, this hit one of the most liberal places in Texas.

So just tell old Ted Cruz to fark off.

You think Texas Democrats voted against Sandy aid, or for Texas politicians that did?  We're doing our best to change the tide here, but it's not gonna happen overnight.

The thing is, you can only say please to Texans who elect congressional asswipes (22 of them) who vote against aid for victims of hurricanes in other states, so many times.

Yes, out here in the rest of America, we're decent people, and we'll do it.  And I hope that the aid comes quick, without bureaucratic runaround.  But I hope that you get a farking history lesson with the aid, and perhaps, a little understanding of what it's like to be a part of a big country.

And as a state with a voluntary building code, goddammit, get into the 21st century.

But if the government helps them.... won't they become socialists??? I don't think we can do that to Ted Cruz, he's too pure of a conservative to ask for a government handout, it may hurt now, but I'm sure he'll thank us in the long run, this is just a temporary moment of weakness.

Texas should get aid on the condition that Ted Cruz personally writes an apology letter to the people of New Jersey.  And he has to read it out loud, on the field before a Yankees game.

I think this is much less true that it seems, which speaks to Christie's skill at optics.

He made a big show of strutting around making noise and looking concerned, but I remember seeing and reading stories a year and more later about tons of Sandy victims -- whole neighborhoods -- who never got the aid they needed and were promised, while Christie was engaged in cronyism with the relief funds.

He seems empathetic on some things, but at heart he is still a corrupt bastard of a Republican who loves nothing more than diverting funds from public uses to himself.
