Meh, it's just nice to see young people of various ethnic backgrounds working together and cooperating like that.  This story is what America is all about.

Why would you EVER get in a drug dealer's car? Sounds like a terrible idea. That's how you get found dead in a field somewhere.

2017-08-30 09:38:10 PM
Actually this is more a case of bad luck (for them) than stupidity despite the way subby makes it sound. I doubt that they set out to knowingly rob an undercover cop.

The suspects stole the officer's .9 millimeter Glock

As thousands of glock owners check their penis....

FTA:

"Armstrong has an extensive criminal history with state convictions for trafficking cocaine, possess with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession, and possession of a weapon on school grounds, among others.  In 2009, Armstrong was convicted in United States Court for the Middle District of North Carolina for conspiracy to distribute 50 grams of more of cocaine base.  Armstrong received a sentence of 120 months, but was released from the Federal Bureau of Prisons on July 1, 2016, and is presently on supervised release.

Stiller has a conviction for misdemeanor breaking or entering.

Sheehan has an extensive criminal history with convictions for fleeing to elude, felony possession of marijuana, injury to real property, misdemeanor drug possession, and driving while impaired, among others."

The 18 year old has a misdemeanor conviction for B & E but the white guy (Sheehan) gets a lower bail!

"We're very fortunate that no detectives were harmed, or citizens, considering you've got a guy (Armstrong) who is out on federal release on a prior drug conviction with a stolen gun, that guy doesn't care what he does to another human being," said Rowan Sheriff Kevin Auten.

Well, of course a person on federal release for a drug conviction automatically is a cold-blooded murderer.

I think any time you're doing a big time drug deal, especially one where you're meeting a guy in your car in a parking lot,  you have to at least assume there is some nonzero chance you're talking to a cop.

2017-08-30 10:06:42 PM
I'll add that while they didn't mean to rob a cop you'd hope at some point the thought crossed their mind "Let's not rob him at gunpoint because he might be a cop."

Meh, you get into a guy you know, Johns car and drive around the block to get an ounce of weed, no problem.   You get into "yeah I know a guy who will sell you a few ounces of blow" guys car?  Serious problem.

Big difference.

It's basically a gift for the sting operation -- the sting operation went wrong but the suspects proceeded to commit other felonies and the undercover agent was unharmed. Probably not going to see these guys on Fark for several years at least.
