that's what he wants everyone to think, but i wouldn't be surprised if he's like a mouse or octopus: once he finds the tiniest of holes, a hole only big enough for the flattened mustache to fit through, the body can probably draw itself through

In his op-ed, he wrote that former chief strategist Stephen Bannon had asked him to "draw up" a "game plan" for the Iran nuclear agreement for Trump, but he has not been able to present it to the president.

"Here it is. It is only five pages long, but like instant coffee, it can be readily expanded to a comprehensive, hundred-page playbook if the administration were to decide to leave the Iran agreement," Bolton wrote.

I'm surprised it took him 5 pages to say "IRAN BAD ISLAMISTS BOO!!!"

But to expand on his simile, it's bitter and unsatisfying and will give you the runs.

North Korea or Iran. You can't have both.

And that's a nice setup to attack both and blame the inevitable failure on Bush 43, who called them the Axis of Evil. "It wasn't my idea to attack them, Bush called them evil but failed to follow through."

I'm reminded once again that one of the worst people from the GWB Administration (Bolton) looks pretty good in comparison to the people in the DJT "administration".

Of course, Bolton was Bannon before it was cool, so he's still pretty damn bad.

same thing happened to me once. There i was, minding my own business when a lovely Belgian woman walks by with a pastry. Being German, i instantly became attracted to her soft, sweet buns. We chatted for a bit, i asked if i could take a bit of her buns, she saw the facial hair, realized I was german out for conquest and smacked me good and hard.

from that moment on, i realized i should stop using my nickname, Fritz.

Dear Mr. President,

I have a plan that will allow you to nuke, not one, but two thirds of the Axis of Evil. Obama didn't have the guts for my audacious plan to bring peace to the Middle East and Korean Peninsula once an for all.

People are saying you're not tough enough on our enemies. How about we show them the longest, thickest, veiniest, most turgid response the world has ever seen?

Christ be with you,

J Bolton

I don't think it's about like. I hope it's about not wanting to destract Trump with a simplistically naive screed full of jingoistic slogans promoting half-truths and outright misinformation in favor of a completely counter-productive and ill-thought out recipe for disaster --- that Trump would find very appealing.

No.  These guys came of age during a time when the US was the only real economic superpower, and have no concept of how to function without this assumption.  They're also the same ones who think any change to that status must be because the US has somehow lost its way, and not even slightly because of increasing competition from other modern nations who are no longer actual smoking holes in the ground after WW2.

what's your point? It was part of the deal as a goodwill gesture that we'll hold up our end of the bargain if they hold up theirs.

for someone who blindly defends the "world's greatest businessman", you sure don't understand either diplomacy or negotiation. Maybe you should get the f*ck out, since your puny little mind would only be baffled by the sheer audacity of "hey, we want you to stop making nukes, as a token of our sincerity, here's a bunch of money we froze in 1980, with interest. Now stop the whole nuke thing, please"

Ignoring the fact that the money was previously and supposedly used to pay victims of Iranian sponsored terrorism. The money is really beside the point the results of the deal are what matters.

A few months later we end up with Russia fighting Iran's proxy war in Syria... Syria was out of money, and Iran was spending around a billion dollars a month in Syria. But yes we did get them to shutter their nuclear program as long as Iran complies. It basically undermined the US ME position.

The money is just a talking point for simpletons, yes. However; the deal helped Iran shore up its long time regional partner and goals. They can start their program again whenever they are finished stabilizing their ally, and will.

I wouldn't call it a coup, but it's disturbing as hell that people view increasing military control over civilian government structures as a good thing. That's like treating a brain tumor with a pistol.
