Ohh FFS -- this is actually incredibly bad. We've already seen what Karl Rove was capable of
Now we have this turdlord looking like he's about to create his own break away party full of Nazis, KKK and other hateful scum and make it mainstream

Yes and no? Bannon is likely going to go to Trump's right as a way to influence him via Breitbart.

In a way, he is. I don't get the impression that Trump is too crazy about Strange - he only backed him to placate McConnell. Moore would be a much more Trump-friendly choice and this way he can back him without officially backing him and pissing off Congressional leadership even more.

Trump backing Strange is one of the few things I've disagreed with him so far on. He's just doing it to assure a representative that will vote for him (ie, swampy). Trump doesn't want to risk another Ted Cruz or Lindsey Graham.

If Stranger's poll numbers keep looking this bad I'll be surprised if Trump doesn't somehow try to back out of his endorsement. Or start tweeting ahead of the election that the only reason Strange is doing so bad is because of McConnell.

there's a theory in deradicalization that making the extremists part of mainstream political process,  it actually acts as a moderating influence as they're forced compete for viability.

A common citation is the IRA, but others exist.

However,  i just don't know how that could apply here.  It also doesn't address the psychological disengagement aspect that is needed.

Pluralities win (except when the Electoral College sabotages things). So I'm fine with the Republican party splitting in two.

LOL no, subby. Bannon has loudly  declared he is on Trump's side, against the people like McConnell who are not TRUE Trump allies.

If Moore wins the primary, Trump will be making campaign appearances and fundraising for him.

Look's like voter fraud is just begging to happen. The entire state will be put on double secret probation and Union troops will need to administer the place for the next 20 years, and change the flag.

It does explain Trump and the confederate statue silence. He's marketing a regional brand against Bannon.  When it comes to history, go wrong and go long.

Why re-invent the wheel when Republicans already have the House, Senate, and White House?

2017-08-29 10:13:20 AM
The Ronco "but wait, there's more!" crowd likely voted 100% for Trump, Joe. Trump is the ultimate infomercial. Oh wow we get Steve Bannon too! That's an awesome bonus! Oh his daughter and son in law? We definitely don't want them but they're free, we'll just give them to the Democratic neighbors, they'll think we're being nice.

A political campaign is when two guys call each other farkheads, and both of them are right.

2017-08-29 10:14:21 AM
They've already hinted that Trump plans to switch his endorsement to Moore or at least withdraw his endorsement of Strange. Both are big fans of Trump and I highly doubt he has a personal investment beyond "my guy should win".

A "break away party" would be great.  That would split the vote.
This will just unite all the Republicans around the far right because they'd rather have an openly racist who might cut taxes in office than any kind of Democrat.
