For ratings what an absolute farking, festering piece of shiat.

Everybody knows that the highest TV ratings are scored by the events that are run while everybody else is watching and talking about the superbowl instead.

I think Trump should do a sequel to Daffy Duck's greatest act.  It would get the yuuugest ratings ever and be the highest grossing pay-per-view in history.  It would knock the Trump- Russia thing off the fake news and tick them off bigly.  Many, many people are saying that it would prove that Trump is the greatest to all the haters.  MAGA!

In light of his pardon of Arpaio, Mr. Trump then began listing other controversial presidential pardons and commutations from Democratic administrations.

He read off a list of individuals, including:

Marc Rich, a Clinton administration pardon
Susan Rosenberg, a Clinton administration commutation - served sixteen years in prison
Carlos Vignali, a Clinton administration commutation - served six years in prison
Chelsea Manning, an Obama administration commutation - served six years in prison
Oscar Lopez Rivera, an Obama administration commutation - served thirty five years in prison

Joe Arpaio - never saw the inside of a jail cell and never even had a mugshot taken.

I suppose one out of five isn't that bad for a guy who could bankrupt a casino.

oh I think Trump's going to get a LOT of 'ratings' in the next couple/few days.

um, has anyone explained to our president that there are consequences to being a weak and despised leader?  And that generally, said consequences are generally fatal to said weak leader?

There are No consequences for Donald. We have discussed this Weaver.

Hes going to get off. He and his band of assholes will never spend a day in custody let alone prison.

They will never pay a fine larger then what they could find in their couch.

His wealth will insulate him forever, unto his death bed. He will surround himself with
vulture yes men and others who will kiss his ass for a piece of the pie.

No matter how bad it gets, he will always have his followers, for whom he can do no wrong.

There is no justice Weaver, Just us.

Trump's edging towards being the most despised leader in the history of the entire united states.  his own party is disgusted with him, and trump's actually managing to unify independents and democrats against him.  Even the rich have abandoned trump.  the only people he's got now are the true believer trumers, and the mercenaries.  that's it.  NOBODY else likes the guy.

the only question is how much damage will trump do when eventually removed from power...?  he's weak, but not powerless.  there's so much more damage he could do before he's out of the white house.

If the Republicans impeach him, the cult Trump's built around himself will do plenty of damage, at least to the GOP. If the "Establishment (((globalist))) RINOs" take down God-Emperor Trump, the GOP will almost definitely take a serious beating in the following election, as Trump's followers primary Republicans for even worse lunatics, vote third party, or just stay home.

Never mind that Trump probably has plenty of dirt on other GOP members, courtesy of the FSB. Dirt that he'll have no problem dumping if necessary.

The damage to the GOP is the only damage they care about, so Mueller's case will have to be pretty farking ironclad to have a chance. That, or Donny could theoretically fark up so badly that even the GOP will see that the damage he's causing to the "brand" by being President is worse than what he'd do if removed.

There is no in between for this orange a-hole..Everything is either the absolute best..Or the absolute worst.
He has no grey areas. It's BEST RATINGS..Or THE WORST HURRICANE.. He wouldn't know best or worst
anything if it flew up and hit him. He has absolutely no frames of reference for anything. Everything
is whatever he proclaims it to be in that moment.

I don't think they need a reason. If it is said or done by a Democrat, they're against it and angry.

Unfortunately, Trump is on the path of the authoritarian autocrat, which means he takes the country down with him.

He is currently destabilizing the government and establishing a kleptocracy (along with the cynics who surround him) as he mugs for the cameras and wallows in his need to be paid attention to.

2017-08-29 06:46:54 AM
I submitted this with a... different headline. That doesn't matter, though, I'm just happy it was greenlit.

Here's the thing, I can't decide if he's stupid or just thinks everyone else is. By that I mean, did he really think that because people were tuned into the news due to the storm that Arpaio's pardon would reach more people? That's the essence of what he's claiming. Or did he hope that the traditionally shiatty Friday ratings combined with peoples' focus on an imminent disaster would mean less attention? If it was the first, he's stupid. If he was going for the latter, but is now claiming the former, then he truly believes we're all a bunch of idiots. The thing about that, though, is it still means he's stupid because no one is falling for that shiat. People didn't catch the story because of the other stuff that was going on, they caught it in spite of what else was going on.
Ultimately, if that was his plan, if he thought, "I'll do this while the few people who are paying attention to the news are focused elsewhere so that it'll go unnoticed", which really seems like the most likely explanation for the sequence of events, then he's even more inept than I have given him credit for.
