The proper response to doing a segment like this is to go home and hang yourself.

Scorpitron is reduced to a thin red paste: The proper response to doing a segment like this is to go home and hang yourself.

You know, in certain older civilized cultures, when men failed as entirely as you have, they would throw themselves on their swords.

Arpiao's deputies burned a puppy alive.

To be fair I don't know how he reacted to this and honestly I don't know if there is a strong enough reaction.

Criminals and bigots held up as "good men". Conmen and liars held up as "truth-tellers".
The immoral hailed as moral and the cheap and gaudy as classy and refined. Ignorance praised and intelligence mocked...

Behold! The greatness of Trump's America.

He is the very model of a modern major president.

His orders are executive and actions are irrelevant.

He'll pardon who he wants and misdirect from his final intent.

Until he finds himself in jail, not visiting but resident.

He's new at this?

very modern president

Such modern, very president.

I just want one day where nothing happens.

2017-08-28 07:47:49 PM
Well, technically, it doesn't get any more modern than the current President. So anything the current president does is "modern-day Presidential."

So...hell of a way to spin his actions there, chief.

No, nobody had to go on air to defend Trump's racism. They chose to.

They may have chosen to save a job they need to feed a family, or out of misplaced loyalty, or because they, themselves, are outright racists. But it was a choice.

It was a choice to vote for Trump knowing he was a racist.

It's a choice to work for Trump knowing he's a racist.

It's a choice to go on TV and defend Trump's racism, knowing he's a racist.

We can argue about the motivations and the acceptability of the justifications, but let's not pretend anybody is forced to do it. Everybody who defends or supports Trump is choosing to do so.

Yeah, pardoning a guy who racially profiled Latinos, ran what he referred to as 'concentration camps', treated prisoners worse than garbage, had deputies who burned a farking puppy alive while they laughed, and who outright ignored a court order? Real Presidential.

/Donald Trump: Racist AND Number 1 with racists.

2017-08-28 07:51:47 PM
Yeah, well Trump's defense was "But, Obama!" with a healthy dose of "But Clinton!" added in...

But he said he'd be the Law and Order President!

/Plot twist: he just meant he'd spend most of his day watching reruns of Law and Order, after Fox and Friends.
//More likely plot twist: he's just a pathological liar.

Let me preface this by saying I'm not an "end times" kind of guy, BUT...

The wackadoo fundamentalists really like Trump and think he's the bestest thing ever. They talk about Obama being the anti-Christ and all of that crap. If anyone in modern politics is the anti-Christ, it's Trump. He's most likely to get us into a nuclear conflict. We're having terrible natural disasters.

But maybe that's what they've been after. Most of these dimwits want to see armageddon happen because they're certain they will hop on the escalator to the sky when the rapture takes place.

Just a thought...

Yeah... he's a big fan of the rule of law.

This. The law shouldn't apply to him or people he likes. This is what he believes. Clearly.

Which, again, is what the stupid assholes who voted for him like about him. When it's HIM. He deserves this dispensation because ... he's rich? He's famous? He wants to get rid of all the brown people? When it's someone else -- like Hillary Clinton or the black president -- well, we should lock them up and throw away the key. For crimes. Crimes they've definitely committed but never been tried for because George Soros or whatever. fark if I know what their rationale for their unhinged gibbering is. That's why it's unhinged. It makes no farking sense to anybody who isn't mentally ill.

That's a supremely unfair edit. Camacho had the remaining wherewithal to recognize that Not Sure knew enough about the world to at least take a stab at solving their problems.

If you put Trump in Camacho's situation, not only would he have had Not Sure executed within five minutes of their meeting, he'd have had to ask someone else to do it because I don't think Trump's tiny hands could handle a Hello Kitty .22 handgun, let alone any SAW in existence.

Just got back from my parents' house. They turned on the news for a bit to get an update on the hurricane. Fox News, of course. The Fox Blonde of the hour was interviewing Karl Rove and someone whose name I forget about the Arpaio pardon. My parents chimed in: they think Trump is a great president, Arpaio did a great job, and it's just the "goddamn bleeding-heart liberals" who are making a big deal out of nothing.

I have not mentioned politics around my parents since the election. I knew they must have voted for Trump, but I allowed myself to hope that maybe they had become disenchanted since then. No such luck. They are steadfastly supporting this moron. They've aligned themselves with some of the worst our country has to offer, and no amount of reason or information is going to change their minds. They love their (goddamn bleeding-heart liberal) daughter and I love them, but in a way they are lost to me now. I went home feeling sick and depressed.

The pardon itself doesn't bug me so much as the open endorsement of the crimes being pardoned.  Obama wasn't parading around saying Chelsea Manning did nothing wrong.

One of my friends from where I grew up is the same way. Doesn't strike me as a particularly dumb guy at all. We got into a Facebook debate, and when he said Trump was draining the swamp indirectly by somehow making us aware of all the corruption, I feared he might be lost. And when he spun all his constant firings as holding even his own people accountable, then it was clear that Trump could piss on his head and he'd praise him for generously sharing his precious bodily fluids.
