Well, subby, because no one's thought to tie the removal of Confederate statues as a hurricane-level punishment.
Don't give them the idea, either.

2017-08-28 11:24:36 AM
Something, something self centered something, something hypocrites or whatnot.

If only someone would collect hundreds of cautionary tales and parables into some sort of tome. It may be complicated, so organize it in several books. Line numbers would be helpful, for quote mining.

2017-08-28 11:24:39 AM
Because republicans are in control of everything and God is on their side, duh.

2017-08-28 11:27:27 AM
Because the hurricane is "punishing" a red state. Also because the blah man isn't in the big chair anymore. Saying it was God's wrath so early in D2S's presidency would seem a lot like casting aspersions on the current administration, which is doing its level best to undo Obama's legacy.

2017-08-28 11:28:44 AM
Because something that does not exist has no wrath.

2017-08-28 11:50:34 AM
Because the hurricane is a demonstration of God's love by not completely drowning everyone in that part of the country.  Since vast amounts of people did not die, it is not wrath from on high.

2017-08-28 11:53:09 AM
Because they're unchristian hypocrites?

2017-08-28 11:55:40 AM
Because they get paid to say those things to their viewers/listeners when it fits the narrative they want to sell.

Always remember these people are getting paid to say those things. "God hates Trump" isn't going to keep them getting paid. Hate is a business.

but only hatred of the desired enemies. It's the team sport of the Jesus Gang.

Gore only made it to VP.

I've been saying that for a week: God is punishing Republicans for voting Dolt 45 into office.

Well, we all know the Jews were involved in this. So, Texans end up looking like martyrs, or something.

Is there any correlation between the colours of a Texas map predisent cheeto mctwoscoopsshiatgibbon would like and subby's headline?

Because we know what we did.

Clearly stubby has not read any of the previous threads about Harvey, where I have been informed this was "karma" for being a conservative state/electing Trump/having too few LGBTQ rights laws/wharbblgarbble, and that the victims deserved their fate. Even those old ladies in the nursing shoulda been more bootstrappy.

Why hasn't it?

Harris and Fort Bend counties are pretty blue. Houston is D-leaning and majority Hispanic.

The term I find most appropriate is 'mammonites'

First the sun goes dark, now a biblical flood, how many more ways must God show his displeasure before we repent?

One of which doesn't exist, depending on your perspective.

8 months into Bush II's presidency an equally if not worse thing happened and within days they claimed it was the femininsts, wiccans and liberals doing it.

Because the only aggrandized voices who do stuff like that are members of the Republican propaganda network.

I mean, yeah, Farkers will, and have, made jokes, but nobody on the left says such things in seriousness because even those on the left who believe in some form of deity don't believe in one who would act in such a capricious manner.

Now, the voices on the right who do earnestly and seriously call things like massive storms or terrorist attacks "gods punishment" for whatever has their netherclothes betwixt, they do believe in a petty and vindictive god like that, which is why they make those claims.

But they won't say anything about this because they won the election, and that's how it works for them.  When they win, it is god's will.  When they lose, it is a subversion of god's will.

Interestingly, that's one of the reason they are so willing to believe in the absurd conspiracies created by hucksters like Jones and Trump- because surely a single man could not subvert the will of all-mighty god, there must have been a vast muslim-athiest-satanist conspiracy to install that marxist muslim kenyan usurper in office.

Also interestingly, the differences in the gods imagined by those on the left and those on the right are highly reflective of those groups - for every person who believes in a god creates that god themselves, and uses themselves as a reference / foundation.

So those on the left believe in a loving god who cares, and uses its power to helps out those in need.
And those on the right believe in a god who is stupid, selfish, petty, and vindictive, and uses its power to arbitrarily destroy vast swaths for the perceived infractions of a few.

Just as they themselves would be, had they the means to do so.

Rest assured, they and their voting power will be dispersed to the four winds, at gunpoint if necessary.

Because global warming is a Chinese Hoax, not a mortal sin?

2017-08-28 03:11:01 PM
Because it hit a red state. Only blue states like New Jersey and New York have mortally sinned in the eyes of their deity, and deserve a right and just smiting. If such a calamity hit California, there would be much rejoicing.

That was guided by human intent and had hatred and purpose behind it. A hurricane doesn't hate the land or the people it affects, and has no ulterior motive for forming, moving, hitting land, etc. much less someone (or a sky fairy) guiding it for a specific purpose.

Maybe they all lost power in the storm? I'm sure that as soon as everything is back up and running, they'll be right here. They're very honest people, after all.

Paul Harvey wasn't that bad.

God wasn't punishing Texas at all. He just knows Texas boasts doing everything bigger and badder than all those librul sissy states, so God wanted to give Texas some rain they could be proud of.

From now on we all better get used to hearing Texans say, "Rain? This ain't no rain. In Texas when it rains our cities flood..."

2017-08-29 04:22:17 AM
It is punishment. For California. Texas gets all the rain, California gets none.

Not necessary to bring up confederate statues. Houston is a liberal city who has elected gays and blacks as mayor. Also, there are a lot of blah people there. Gee, where did the storm sit? Houston. Really obvious when you think about it. And the Godly Gay-Hating TrumpPansies who got hurt by Harvey are also being punished by god because they didn't do enough to keep blahs and violent soshulist commie liberals out of Texas.

Texans, don't dress your doggies up like cowboys
Don't make 'em wear hats, or ride in old trucks
Dress 'em like doctors and lawyers and such

Well hell, no wonder the weatherman I listen to isn't 100% accurate. He studied calculus, physics, dynamics, synoptic meteorology, atmospheric sciences, and computer programming when he should have been studying political science, religion, and human sexuality.
