Nothing to see here, move along.

Exactly what I came to post although tfa did kinda hint that that may change once recreational use becomes legal soon.

PSA

If you do actually get a can of beer brewed with the actual THC containing plant, don't drink the sludge.

/End PSA

from the article,

Jeremy Marshall, the brewer for Lagunitas, said he valued working with CannaCraft, especially its high-tech labs that conduct the extraction process using pressurized carbon dioxide.

Breweries have the equipment necessary to make top quality extracts, it would not surprise me to see a lot of breweries doing this in the future for a little bit of extra cash on the side.

That sounds terrible.

This text is now purple: That sounds terrible.

I know a number of homebrewers who have tried pot in beer, doesn't work. Which is odd, because hops and marijuana are closely related.

Generally, skunky beer is seen as a bad thing.

A beer that makes you feel high and low? We shall see.

2017-08-24 06:58:09 PM
So a beer that doesn't get you high that tastes like weed.....

I fail to see the benefit

2017-08-24 07:06:15 PM
Of course it has to be a hop bomb, that is how you 'disguise' the taste.

I believe it was Phineas Phreak who said "drinking beer and smoking dope is like pissing into the wind.  It's a nice warm feeling at first, but then it gets nasty".

I may or may not be a home brewer who may or may not have tried this, and I can tell you unequivocally the outcome is best described as "garbage tea."  "Dis-farking-gusting" was also a comment heard.

Problem is, there's "dank" (think Columbus, Centennial, Cascade, perhaps Chinook and Simcoe hops) then there's dank (my roommate has a 6 foot plant in the closet that I can smell from the front door).  Both smell good, but getting the pot into the beer that keeps a manageable level of "dankness" in a way that doesn't taste like absolute hobo piss is problem 1.  Tea?  No go, gross.  Alcohol infusion?  The fusel alcohols of the actual infusion seem to overcharge the weed; combine it with any hops, and it's gross, like drinking hot asphalt.  Use the weed like regular hops?  Hurk.  HuuUUUUUrk. Jesus fark, no.

Moral of the story: Buy a good craft beer and smoke a goddamn joint.  Don't fark up two perfectly fine things.

/Also, I've never tried to put pot in beer.  Ever. Not once.

Potatoes and cabbage in the same dish. Hardly anything more Irish.

When they finally get around to legalizing it up here in the Great White North, I'm going to buy me a bottle of decent vodak and make me some Green Dragon - I've always wanted to see what that was like.

A tank of CO2 is nowhere near "the equipment necessary" to do super critical CO2 extraction.
