The best part of the little league world series is watching the emotional meltdowns of the kid who are having too much pressure dumped on them.

How is Venezuela sending a baseball team to the LLWS? Isnt the entire country eating toilet paper or something like that because their economy has reached Zimbabwe levels of fail?

They sent the kids to America to bring back condiments.

I don't know how socialism works.

Hint, look up  . . . some animals are more equal than others.

Yeah I mean this was good sportsmanship but this also doesn't need to be on TV either. At least when ESPN shows high school basketball and football it's because there are dudes playing who are headed to top D1 programs and you're likely to hear of them again someday.

It wasn't *that* long ago that they only showed the US vs the world championship game.

I dont have a sense of humor and love being a dick on the internet.

Let me get the crayons out for you: It was a joke. Welcome to Fark, where we joke about serious things like a "human cheeto president", and a country on the verge of economic collapse, and Venezuela. I'm well aware that these kids probably come from what remains of the upper crust of Venezuelan society; the kind of people that can still afford double-ply toilet paper.

Your point?    A lot of kids play baseball...LLWS is the biggest tournament within that sphere.

But they are still just kids.  Televising the series injects money into the games which adds pressure to win which puts pressure on the kids to not fark-up which results in emotional meltdowns when kids inevitably make a mistake.

I thought it was cool last night when the opposing catcher would give five to the hitter hitting the homerun as he crossed homeplate.  Good sportsmanship.

A lot of kids play a lot of sports. Which sports below high school age are televised nationally besides the LLWS? What, the spelling bee? And that's an afternoon of streaming and 2 hours of prime time.

Gymnastics, dance, ice skating, skateboarding/bmx, probably more, but that's just off the top of my head.

Nope, anything of that important enough to televise has an age limit higher than little league by several years

That's my go to line when I'm trying to get laid. It's amazing how the biatches eat it up.
