Yea, oddly enough, I can understand why they wouldn't want to quit.  In a sense, they're trying to protect what they can from him.    What a sorry situation we find ourselves in.   Thanks, America.

Well, if they left, the next group of clingers-on would be Cleetus and Bubba and such.

Considering the staff picks that he's made to run departments, I can see why the middle and upper levels are trying to control what their pointy haired bosses who don't understand their departments would do with new hires.

Then you have Stevie Miller, who is just firing off missives to try to get folks to blatantly do illegal sh*t, because he says so.

This is the "Deep State" at work. Functional government, as opposed to sh*t flinging gibbons just mucking about wild...functional government versus sh*t gibbons. It's a hard choice, I know...

Except that there little anyone can do to stop him from striking out and doing crazy shiat on his own.  Most of the time that Trump does and does/says something stupid, nobody even knows about it before he does it.  Tuesday's recanting of Monday's condemnation is but one of countless examples of Trump being Trump after he's been explicitly told to not be Trump.  And Trump being off-the-cuff like that is the real Trump.  If and any moment he sounds like he is being presidential, you know it's because he's being forced to do so, and he'll likely try to take that back at his earliest possible convenience.

I don't believe them. Given the leaks that come out of that building, if any of them ever stepped up to stop something terrible, we'd all have heard about it.

If you don't like your job, don't strike.  Just go in every day and do it really half assed.  That's the American way!

So while no one may be explicitly saying no, there are a million ways to slow down and stop things they don't like.  Number one being, just delaying until he forgets.

At what point does Congress finally take action to put Trump on notice that he either has to tow the party line or get tossed out on his ass? The 2018 midterm elections are going to be bloody for congress-critters who appear unconcerned about a racist bigot occupying the oval office.

Oh, they're trying to save America, huh? What the fark were they doing when they agreed to work for this POS...AFTER Pussygate, insulting dead soldiers, mocking the handicapped, etc.?

I refuse to turn them into American heroes for protecting their paycheck. This isn't noble. They associated themselves with the worst. They don't get a reset because they thought he'd eventually stop acting like an ass. I hope they feel the same pain of losing a job and healthcare that their boss tried to inflict on the rest of the country for a political win.

I'm in a - cliche alert - emotional roller coaster over the Trump administration.  I really am.

I'm a Hispanic immigrant and naturalized citizen, so I am mainly pretty angry.  I am angry towards white Americans, because a good amount of them voted for Trump explicitly for his racism, and another good amount voted for him in spite of his racism, and neither one of those is even remotely defensible.

I am angry because as an immigrant, I already feel less free.  I've experienced harassment in my own damn neighborhood; not Mississippi-Burning levels of racism, but aggravating nonetheless, and all of which is directly tied to Trump's rise to power.  I am angry because I have to read things like how the Trump administration was sending lawyers to SCOTUS to argue the revocation of American citizenship to naturalized Americans that break the law.  It went nowhere, but if Trump gets to pick a couple more justices in his presidency, it just might.

I am angry because I now second-guess lifelong friendships and acquaintances based on their support of Trump.  My wife is white, I grew up in Kentucky and I live out west now, but most of my friends and family are back in KY, and I see people I thought I was cool with still proudly flying the MAGA flag.  It's unnerving.

But at the same time, it is encouraging to see people of all stripes, who weren't particularly political, finally draw the line at Nazis and take to the street to say "not in my country".  It is encouraging and touching to get texts from friends just to say they're also disgusted with Trump, and will do everything they can to make him a one-term President.  I am encouraged to see there is constant outrage every time Trump tries to erode civil protections for the marginalized, because at the start of this thing I was expecting a collective shrugging of the shoulders.

Some days are good, some others not so much.  My wife keeps telling me, this may be the type of thing where we have to march a few steps backwards to move forwards.  I hope she's right.

Whoa, now. So, since the system of white oppression has failed we ALL need to be bombed and chopped into pieces? Why should the oppressed be handed the same punishment as the oppressor? We didn't make these laws or declare these wars. We spent our entire time in the country at war with the same white people for our rights. So, how about instead of putting a bullet into the back of the country's head, we just have an amputation of the infected areas?
