More like, how does the F-22 keep from stalling :)

That's a combination you don't see every day.

I think you got a hell of a shot. Good job tracking them. Thanks a lot for sharing that, it was very cool. The only thing that would have made it cooler was if they were also flying a P38 Lightning with them.

Yeah, how slow can an F-22 go?

I was snoozing before registering for a conference and got rattled out of bed, saw this trio, and thought the same thing. And then was weirdly reminded of this Far Side:

Before stall or before impact?

I didn't look it up, but I suspect the P-51 can outrun the A-10.
But like others have said, it is more about how can the F-22 stay slow enough to pace the other two?

Slives: how can the F-22 stay slow enough to pace the other two?

They can all do 280 knots very comfortably.

2017-08-20 05:26:32 PM
I think the -22 has a vectored thrust system that allows it to go slower.

I did look it up and the top speed for either of them was 440-450 mph.

Tankers fly racetracks. Good to know when you need gas.

Those 3 are flying defensive cover for the F35 pilot who had to bail out. It's Chicago after all. I've heard that city is a war zone.

Speaker2Animals: I think the -22 has a vectored thrust system that allows it to go slower.

They can probably go extremely high angle of attack and essentially plow through the air, but it would look very obvious and take more fuel than straight and level at a higher speed.  Essentially, the plane wouldn't actually be flying, as much as standing on it's engine.

Oh, CSB, it turns out I go to the same doctor as Trump!

I must have been inside something during that.  I spent most of my day at Selfridge going touring the planes they had on static display.
