Idiots.

Priority 1 is winning the House in 2018.
Priority 2 is winning a bevy of state and local races in 2017 and 2018.
Priority 3 is stemming Senate losses in 2018.
Priority 4 can be winning the presidency in 2020.

Sadly, as long as Democrats field a warm-blooded candidate to vote against, the GOP will always have lots of support, no matter their platform.

Hillary will be ready this time.

Is Pence automatically the GOP's first choice in 2020? I don't see a ton of institutional GOP support for the dude.

Anyone who puts energy into running against Pence this early in the process is probably wasting that energy.

The VP typically gets the nom if he wants it.  But with this clown show?  Who knows!  Pence could even be POTUS by then, and then what, Ollie?

I agree. I still see more news articles about who's running for president in 2020 than I do for any of the other three sets of elections coming up in 2018. I think that's because we're severely misallocating our resources.

It's that prioritizing of the Presidental race over all others that have led to so many state legislatures, Governorships, and congressional seats being held by Republicans.

Just because Trump has gone off the rails is no guarantee that the Dems automatically win. They've snatched defeat from the jaws of victory before. Dems really need to be working on a solid platform and strategies to achieve those goals, because right now it's "we're for whatever the other guys are against", which not surprisingly is also the GOP's platform.

"We're going to do X,Y, and Z and we're going to achieve those goals by doing these things". That's how you attract the moderate voters and win. But hey, it's the Dem's election to lose.

Hate to break it to Farkers, but I'll say it again.

Not only will Trump not be impeached, he'll win the 2020 election. The Democrats have zero organization, the conversatives will never vote for a Democrat, and too many people enjoy the circus. A deeply disturbing number of Americans would rather see an interesting government than a good government.

Mark my words: Trump will win in 2020. If you haven't started packing yet, I'd strongly consider it.

Thankfully (for him) he's been pretty steady in his disdain for Trump.  Can't say he only went against him when the tides had turned.

I really liked his immigration oped.  It touched my feels.

Perhaps the Dems should run a candidate that doesn't come with so much baggage. It's part of the strategery. Play to win. The GOP's gonna go low because it's what they do every time, and on this occasion, they really can't debate the high ground. Deny them their sustainment, watch them die on the vine. Surely the Dems can find *one* person in their ranks that didn't delete emails, or send dick pics to everyone.

You know it is entirely possible that Pence goes first and Trump gets to appoint a new VP who would then take over when he says see ya later jerks.
So president Ivanka up for re-election, bonus for her if that happened half of the Liberals in this country seem to be willing to say don't blame Ivanka for what her Dad did, as she stands silently beside him refusing to disavow anything he does.

Interesting question: in the post-Trump age, what constitutes political dirt? Trump isn't just covered in political dirt, he's a farking dirt golem through and through, and while it's gradually blunting his rampage, it sure as hell didn't stop it from happening. Is he an anomaly? Or is political dirt just not as generally sticky as it used to be? How does his presidency affect future candidates, if at all?

This may come as a surprise, but the national news generally cares a lot less about potential candidates in Congressional districts than it does Presidential candidates. Additionally, that has nothing to farking do with some random Democratic SuperPAC that has a grand total of three people digging up dirt on Mike Pence.
