So here we are in a pissing contest with two of the biggest shiatholes on the planet, North Korea and Venezuela.  Neither one of these commie toilets has anything of value that America wants.  Why are we wasting any time or energy on these dead end losers.  Let them bleed.  Let them die.

/ But let them lash out, even a little, and it's on.

The human being subjects of those two governments have value wether the U.S wants them or not (you nasty person).

It's simple. 1. Trump needs a war to win back the Republicans he's been losing in the polls and distract everyone else from his crimes.  2. Venezuela has oil. 3. While Trump would normally be DESTROYING his tightie-whities over a dictator, Venezuela happens to be one of his base's stupid taking points: "Socialism never works because.. VENEZUELA! Pay no attention to the European countries behind the curtain!"

Urgh.  North Korea officially abandoned the tenants of communism decades ago.  Venezuela has had a pretty piss poor run of it due to being a single-export economy, that was poorly managed, and now might in fact become communist.  We will see how that goes.

We waste time on North Korea because they are a direct threat to our ally.  And a nation with no real economic ties to other nations outside aid, which allows them significantly more leeway of action, can do crazy shiat, especially when led by a cult of personality for three farking generations.

We waste time on Venezuela because of the farking Monroe doctrine.  And because they have oil.  And because every time they buddy up with other nations, its usually one we don't like, kinda like that time they buddied up with Russia.

As for "Let them bleed.  Let them die.", you are broken.  Its all just humans, ya know?  Its all mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, children, grandchildren.  There are no horrible wounds inflicted that do not echo, and they should NEVER be inflicted lightly, and should NEVER be treated in such an asshole cavalier manner as you seem to.

Talking is how we avoid burning shiate down.  And avoid killing people who probably have nothing to do with the decision making.  Burning shiate down is a LAST RESORT.

Venezuela is a gorgeous country, it just like two people like Trump run it into the ground.

2017-08-12 04:53:57 PM
Trump has no intention of starting a war with Venezuela.

But in his mind if you have the most powerful military on the planet it is simply a waste not to threaten to use it in order to get your way. Thinking about unintended consequences from those threats is something only loser libs do. Worrying that people will call your bluff is SAD and PATHETIC.

This is just the presidential version of The Art of the Deal.

Me?  I'm not advocating doing anything to these people.  No first strike violence.  If you prefer, think of it as benign neglect.  It's not our business.

Anyway, I don't see you guys doing a damn thing for those poor NoKo and Veney bastards that you so adore from up there on your high moral horses!

What happened to Syria Afghanistan and Iraq?

Right now much of South America is opposed to Maduro.  The best way to turn that around would be for the US to use military force against him.

Yeah he messed up.

All the starving and dead people are now totally supportive of Maduro.

So sad

I had such high hopes back  in the day

Imagine that. A big bad enemy has been used to gain support by people all over the world for centuries. Iran, North Korea, and Cuba have long used the American enemy to rally support for decades, Chavez used it quite effectively for many years as well. If you want an enemy to keep the people in line, is the biggest, baddest kid on the block is pretty damned effective.

The majority of the citizens of Venezuela are hungry.  Not just, "Oh I better make lunch" hungry - more like "I just wish we had something to eat!" hungry. They have been hungry for a long time.  This is one of the reasons why there has been an increase in the uprising.
When you are that hungry, it doesn't matter what silly government officials say.

I can understand North Korea (not that I agree with how Trump is handling it) but how is Venezuela threatening our national security?

I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out how Trump thought there was anything to be gained from getting us involved in Venezuela. Then I found the problem with my reasoning.

I actually do support military action in Venezuela.  Last I heard they're turning away humanitarian aid because it would make them look bad, so why don't we just airdrop a bunch of food and medicine?

The problem is that Mercosur has actually been quite concerned and starting to take actions. Trump running his mouth will quickly interrupt this. For some strange reasons, many South Americans are not entirely convinced that the US is always 100% right.

Did Subby read a different article than the rest of us?

I read an article about Venezuela's government complaining about Trump's statement, not improving its hold on power in any fashion whatsoever.
