Glennon played to expectations of a bears QB. The last good bears QB that played a whole season was sid luckman in 1945

They just have him and Sanchez there so that Trubisky can't possibly seem bad.

To be fair, only giving the guy 10 passes with no receiving corps is not exactly setting one up for success. On the other hand... pick-6.

Bullshiat. Trubisky's going to take the reins if Glennon shiats the bed. The Bears play in Soldier Field. No way that the guy who kneels during the National Anthem is going to play for them. He'll get booed out of town and Bears fans will not attend the games with him on the roster.

He seemed downright *good* in his preseason debut.

NFL Network was showing the Chicago local broadcast which was delightfully homertastic. My favorite part was them talking about how great it is to have a veteran like Sanchez to lead Trubisky. No matter how terrible a QB you've been, as long as you've been in the league for a few years you are automatically a knowledgeable veteran.

And it felt good to laugh at that now because on Saturday I'll be nodding along as I listen to the Jets broadcast say the same shiat about Josh McCown.

One problem Kaepernick has is that he's too good for a team that's trying to tank. Competitive teams have good qbs already.

Why win 5 games with Kaepernick if you can win 3 with Glennon or Barkley or whoever?

What is this "promising quarterback" you speak of? Your customs seem strange and frightening to me.

With the Bears, there's also the fact that we drafted a QB with the 2nd overall pick. It would make absolutely no sense to sign him.

How do you actually throw a ball like that?  That pass sucks so bad it seems to violate both the rules of human physiology and physics.

I will ask some of my 8-9yos next practice.  But most of them have been trained well enough  to throw better than that but we still have a few unathletic kids not get it yet.

It is not that he would be worse but that if he gets shelled too much then he may never recover and well there goes any chance that your trade for #2 will look good.

Aww hell, that trade wouldn't look good if he was the love child of Tom Brady and Payton Manning

Players with insane amounts of natural talent (generally) don't have to work as hard at the strategy and nuance.  The (comparatively) mediocre players don't have the same level of natural talent and have to work extra hard at learning those things.  Thus they are generally better able to pass that knowledge on as coaches.

To put it another way: The top talented guys usually have coaching techniques like "Just watch what I do and do that" whereas the mediocre players are better at saying things like "Look for this subtle shift in this formation to know that the linebackers are going to be filling the B-gaps..."

/Lets be fair, even the most "mediocre" players at the top level still have insane amounts of natural talent.
//I have neither the talent nor the coaching ability.

There's lots of mediocre players and few elite stars. Out of the herds of mediocrity, there are likely more players who have the talent to coach, simply due to the numbers.

Put it this way, coaching searches don't start with "hey, let's call Joey Herrington. He really sucked..."

It's not surprising really, I understand the evidence apparently wasn't there at all for the main domestic violence accusation (which was dropped by police), but you had a guy with a history of issues and on top of that because of the Rice/Brown incidences last year the league just put a 6 game minimum suspension for DV so - whether it was justified or not - they went with the minimum. Jerruh is pissed but the dude also had the backing of Goodell throughout deflategate so foot:mouth.

Yeah because a team that just drafted a QB that they believe is their future is going to sign a guy who will lead them to 3-13.
