(NYPost)   NFL legends Matt Leinart and Brady Quinn got into Twitter beef last night over the 2005 USC/Notre Dame game, where Reggie Bush infamously pushed Leinart over the goal line for the game winning TD, aka "the Bush Push"   ( nypost.com) divider line

i will claim part ownership/membership of that.....it was the 200X Fiesta Bowl and in the thread, we all started mocking the announcers, who were just straigth up cockslobbing Brady Quinn's COURAGEOUS play.  every time he did anything, it was, "the heart of a lion", "have you ever seen such leadership and courage", "he just refuses to lose" (which he did) and so on.  it got rdiculous.  we'd start posting things like, "a courageous underthrown pass", "a courageous interceptsion", and so on.  they would just farking stop with the adoration of that guy over the most basic QB play.

what notre dame bias, nbc?

the media loves to see white QBs yell at their teammates (brady, luck, and quinn's brief tenure).  that's leadership.  but when richard sherman yells at russell wilson, he's "divisive" and "should seattle trade sherman?"  interesting how that works.....

Pete Carroll? Surprised he didn't call a pass there.

Afterward, Quinn put on his old Irish jersey and threw a football over some mountains. Leinart, feeling satisfied, poured coffee into his Arizona Cardinals cup. Then he noticed it was cracked. He began to cry.

I just asked Alexa who is the QB of the Houston Texans. I shiat you not, she says, "Matt Leinart, Gary Kubiak, John David Booty, and Rex Grossman." There are a lot of things wrong with that list, but starting with Matt Leinart is the worst.

/Also, Alexa is dumb as shiat.

That was a hell of a game, I vividly remember watching it by myself and pacing back and forth on USC's final drive. 3rd and 20 followed by a 4th and 9, it wasn't a long throw but that 4th and 9 toss by Matt Leinart came damn close to getting knocked away. If Dwayne Jarrett was a little faster and not your prototypical beast of a USC "possession receiver" that would have been a touchdown right there.

We had a Notre Dame guy with us and I saw him the next morning. Before he could catch himself he hung his head for a split second and I didn't even say anything.

Damn those were some good USC teams. Kind of odd that Charlie Weis' "best win" was a loss, when everybody thought Notre Dame would go places with him.

"This one is bigger than all five of his put together." How'd that "decided schematic advantage" work out?

These are the saddest of possible words:
      "Matt Leinart Brady Quinn beef."
Duo of QBs, and dumber than turds,
      Matt Leinart Brady Quinn beef.
Tweeting and whinging and whoring attention,
Never accomplishing shiat worth a mention-
Words that are heavy with grave apprehension:
      "Matt Leinart Brady Quinn beef."

You do realize that Wilson is the QB and is pretty well universally respected, and Sherman is a cornerback - and while talented, offenses generally don't like their own defenses criticizing them in public, and vice versa?

/but you keep working on that straw man

/CSB time: I was on the sideline at about the same yardline as the Bush push.  Bush was leaning forward and got his fingers in Leinart, but was already leaning forward before he made contact, so I have doubt about how much traction he really had behind it.

Also, the play before, the ND clock operator tried to end the game by letting the game clock run out following a fumble out the sideline.  I saw the fumble cruise by and thought, "alright, time for another play" and then noticed that somehow the clock was still running.  ND fans started rushing the field while the refs were trying to fix it.  The stadium announcer had to go on and tell the fans to get off the field or the refs would throw a penalty (no idea what that penalty would have been.)

The penalty is "unsportsmanlike conduct."

Once my school did that too early, giving our rival another chance. Then, on their extra play...our defensive line got a strip-sack and a 300-pounder recovered it and returned it for a TD with no time left, which made the second field-rushing way more fun.
