Not a bad salary for a fiction writer.

2017-08-08 11:42:32 AM
How much would it cost... I mean theoretically... to create a script that generates news articles from Lord Dampnuts' tweets/press releases and then posts them to twitter to be picked up by major news outlets, which are then recompiled into a report about positive articles?

Diogenes: Not a bad salary for a fiction writer.

See, I'm not sure this would fall into the category of fiction. It's more creative nonfiction -- you know, that bullshiat genre invented by people who lack the imaginative spark required to wholly create their own worlds but aren't actually talented, interesting, or honest enough to write creatively about real things.

So...
1,711.54 per week, before taxes, to find news stories that show the president in a positive light?
For that kind of money I will write the articles myself and Photoshop Trump as a world contender body builder or a space marine or whatever the fark he wants and write bullshiat about that too.

Today, in a truly heroic act, Donald Trump defeated King Kong Himself, throwing the beast off of Trump Tower and slaying him, and saving like a ton of hot babes man.  Just look at all these hot babes he saved.

Boy, I don't think I could come up with better descriptions of Jonah Goldberg and (convicted felon) Dinesh D'Souza if I tried!

To be fair, if he/she can find actual positive news, that price tag is a bargain for such talent.

woefully underpaid
Most really good fiction writers get at least 10 times that per story

That's a pretty good salary for just printing out posts by Drew's friends.

Bullshiat.  Some folks here on Fark do it every day as a hobby!

I could see where sussing out positive articles about Trump would be a rather uphill task. I don't envy the person with that job.

What are the chances we'll be hearing about this again tomorrow morning on FOX and Friends

So the staffer sifted through all of the White House hate mail and opened up the one addressed in crayon, written by a pickle?
"Uh, can we use this?"

2017-08-08 12:32:01 PM
This is much easier than actually doing positive things.

Also, if not for this staffer, we would have never discovered Pickle.

It's funny that snowflake is some kind of triumphant insult from Trumpers when Trump is pretty much the biggest snowflake in existence.

A person tasked with such an impossible mission should be paid more.
Or less, I guess, if they realize it's pointless and give up.

Also, there's not much to do in Leavenworth, Kansas, so I don't think the other Ex Presidents will want to spend much time there.

Not to threadjack, but Joan Didion has done some amazing stuff, and some folks categorize her as "creative nonfiction."  I read her when I was living in the Redlands/Riverside/San-Bernardino "inland empire" and she wrote about the particular soulless-ness of that place with exacting and poetic insight.

So, the "director of rapid response" digs up positive stories about the president and gives them to him (rapidly?) rather than crafting responses *from* him?

I think you just broke Russiagate.  It was a overzealous staffer trying to "work smarter" and his Trump Love script became sentient.
