He's hallucinating. When do we pull the plug on this shiatshow?

Well, gosh, it's almost like a 100-year history of being clean-cut bigots with the occasional slight tendency to sometimes shelter one little pedophile here and there doesn't automatically mean you can be relied upon to behave ethically. Gosh. I mean, really. Golly.

I've used outhouses that were less full of shiat than Trump.

Actual holes in the ground people poop in.  They're less full of shiat than our president.

so either trump hallucinated an entire conversation which did not and never existed (in which case he should be removed from office immediately as a matter of safety), or trump is flat out lying about a conversation he never had.....with the gotdamn f*cking BOY SCOUTS of all people.

I cannot believe the country has come to this.  our leader is either a delusional fool or so corrupt that he's willing to lie about the f*cking boy scouts of america.  And he might even be a little bit of both.  either way, this is really really BAD.  not only has trump shiat all over the white house. now he's shiatting all over scouting.  what's next?  raping nuns?  trail of tears 2.0?  invading gotdamn CANADA!?  I mean if this asshole is willing to tell lies about the gotdamn boy scouts, what limits can he have?

We haven't come to this. There are lots of people actively resisting this bullsh*t. Like I posted above, even the Mormons are sick of his shiat. This is not going to last until 2020.

I'm starting to get a really incredibly nasty vibe from the country....trump cannot keep craping all over the institutions people love and respect.  not without the mood of the nation turning incredibly vicious.  I can't put my finger on this thought, not exactly but....its like the country is reaching a point where everyone is like "ok trump, you've had some laughs. knock it off and GBTW".  only trump can't get back to work, because he's got no idea what he's doing.  so he knocks over something else, laughs, and doesn't understand why everyone's glaring at him and whispering.

I dunno man.  its like the more trump does shiat like this, the worse the mood gets around the country.

He's so bad at it, too.  He lies like a five-year-old. Nobody ever tells him he's good at something, or it was fine.  Or that it was even great.

It's ALWAYS the greatest thing anyone has ever seen in the history of all time.

2017-08-02 12:53:55 AM
It's so easy to tell when Trump is lying about what someone said about him:

President Donald Trump told the Wall Street Journal, [...] the head of the Boy Scouts called him and told him it was "the greatest speech that was ever made to them."

No normal person talks like that. No normal person showers such high praise for something so undeserving and meaningless. Trump does, though. And we all know his history of masquerading as other people to compliment himself.

Seriously if anyone in that administration needs to be accused of sucking their own cock...

Somehow, about two days and change after that Class IV Clusterf*ck, I managed to end up listening to Steele and Ungar.  They took a caller who had a 10-year-old son in the BSA.  That caller - a self-admitted conservative - told them that the night of the speech, the son turned to his dad and said he didn't want to be a Boy Scout anymore because they had booed Obama, who had been one.  The caller said he asked his son to take the night and think about it, and they'd discuss it the following day.  A day passed, and the kid was unwavering in his committment.  All three people applauded the son's decision.

I've noticed most people have given up on life. Not suicidal, just not expecting life to be enjoyable or get better. A sort of malaise over everyone, which can only be countered by enough people breaking through. The problem is, there aren't enough people, and the more the malaise spreads, the less possible it becomes to reverse. Basically, you know Plague Inc and so forth? We're kind of in the "everyone is infected and no cure can save us fast enough" phase.

In situations like this, I wonder if he's instead being misled.  Not punk'd or pranked, but, like some group is trying to just keep his frail feelings stoked.  So after meetings, he gets letters from Pickle and calls from representatives that are really [Jared&Ivanka / Breitbart staff / Mike Pence / Russia] disguising their voice and writing trying to make sure he doesn't get upset.

Camacho: not a racist and willing to listen to smarter men. dream candidate.
Pence: probably won't cause a constitutional crisis. might be able to lose an election without trying to destroy america out of spite

Listen.

Have you ever seen Memento? Do you remember the story Leonard recounts about Sammy Jenkins?

A man who can't remember anything yet there's always a twinkle of recognition in his eyes.

He was faking it. Just like Leonard was then faking it. They live the lie. It's automatic.

Trump barely thinks. He's an invertebrate. Lying about getting a call and it being the best ever is literally an automatic reflex for him. He does it CONSTANTLY and has been for his entire life. This is his small talk. This is as natural and rite as talking about the weather.

It's so colossally moronic and transparent I'm baffled anyone is impressed by him. He's a child broken by his father. Obsessed with winners and losers and so terrified of failure he's caked on layers of protective lies to insulate his psyche. He knows he is a fraud at that microscopic kernel of true self he actively ignores. I think he is incapable of feeling true joy.

At least part that makes me glad.

In my experience, this is less the result of political leadership and climate, and more based in the cultural notion that the way our society works is unfair, tedious, and unsustainable. Trump will eventually be gone, inequality, fear, and constant impediments in the search for meaning are much tougher obstacles to surmount.

To, "hey guys, let's not talk politics in the shop (or on Facebook), so uh....did anyone see, uh,  Dunkirk this weekend?"

I don't know if they'll go as far as voting against him in 2020, but if they do, they'll quietly slink into the voting booth without donating or campaign for him, and avoid the question of who they voted for.  They've completely given up on defending him.  Or even acknowledging his existence.  It's like a big mystery how he got in the White House to them.  It will be like trying to find a Bush voter in late 2007, cranked up to eleven.

Who voted for Trump?

Pichu0102: The Zen Philosopher Basho: Pichu0102: ecmoRandomNumbers: Weaver95: ecmoRandomNumbers: Like I posted above, even the Mormons are sick of his shiat.

And our mood is PISSED. It might get violent, but like Americans, we'll settle down with a few beers and some weed. I don't think this is an inexorable fight to the finish. We're tired. We're pissed. And we're not going to take this shiat. Or maybe we will.

I really have a lot of faith in the Millennials. They're our salvation. They will learn to organize before 2020. I guarantee it. I taught them for a decade. They're pissed off and they're wonderful and smart. too. Have some faith.

Are you sure you're not him? I literally read your posts in his voice.  Especially when you use "malaise".

/One love!

I've looked up the guy on Google and can't get a good grasp of what his personality might be like. What's he like?

See my link above. Paul F Tompkins does a great Werner Herzog impression, and the clip is a good example of what he's l

Sgt Otter: thatguyoverthere70: The man just can't stop lying.

He's so bad at it, too.  He lies like a five-year-old. Nobody ever tells him he's good at something, or it was fine.  Or that it was even great.

It's ALWAYS the greatest thing anyone has ever seen in the history of all time.

Go big or go home. And right now?

DONNIE. GO. THE. F#CK. HOME.!!

CodeMonkey4Life: This Face Left Blank: Iczer: Ever. farking. Time.

Every time he opens his trap and lies it's about something that's quite easy to verify or eviscerate based on the heresy that is "evidence".

So many times I wake up in the morning wondering if it was all just a horrible dream and nobody actually shot JR...

And yet, something like 80% of Republicans think he's doing a good job as president.  I don't think he's even doing a good job as a primate.  There are trash-pandas I'd sooner see as President.  I'd sooner have Hector Dwayne Elizondo Camacho as the president.  Strangely, I'm not 100% sure I'd rather have Pence as president.  I think he'd want to things almost as farky as Donny 2-Scoops, but be FAR better at getting it done.

Camacho: not a racist and willing to listen to smarter men. dream candidate.
Pence: probably won't cause a constitutional crisis. might be able to lose an election without trying to destroy america out of spite

I was originally in the Pence would be worse camp but now I see his bad policy as something that can be undone by future law makers, unlike Trump's debasement of democratic institutions and destruction of democratic norms.

fark it.  Keep him.  Haven't many of us had a sense of needing to hit, "rock bottom" before we could return to something resembling civility and normalcy?  Pence is not rock bottom.  Trump is.  He's indefensible.  Sure, people twist reality and stick their fingers in their ears, but most of them can't do it forever.  If we don't hit rock bottom with Donny 2-Scoops, who?   Who's next, and what the HELL will THEY do?

There are people more competent that will take the lessons from this whole mess and apply them, then do even worse, if we don't learn our collective lesson now.  At least Trump's incompetent to a large degree, and makes enemies at every turn.  We trust in the checks and balances, and the survival instincts of those around him to keep him from doing anything TRULY destructive, and let him smear shiat everywhere until, at long last, enough of us say, "What the friggin' HELL!?", and pull us back from the crazy of the last 15-20 years.  When right-wing radio and Breitbart start losing people, then we're getting close.

Trump's gotta stay around longer.  This MUST be rock bottom.  If this isn't it, FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST, WHAT WILL BE!?

Weird thing about this...

Trump might not be lying. His staff very well might have faked a call from the Boy Scouts telling him what he claims. Not sure which is scarier, honestly.
