Why the surprise?

It seems that every single statement that comes out of the WH, whether it's Trump's twit feed or from one of the cardboard spokespeople, every single statement it turns out the opposite is true.

Every damn time

I know this particular article has only been live for a couple of hours, but hasn't Sekulow already said today that The Washington Post's story about the D2S isn't factual? I could swear I recall hearing that sometime earlier today.
He says Trump didn't know, that he wasn't involved. The Post says he was. He says the Post is incorrect. They write a story saying he's been lying this whole time. Thing is, as much as it seems reasonable to me that Dolt45 knew and did indeed craft the response, I haven't seen anything concrete that backs that up.

The WaPo story about D2S crafting the "adoptions" story is anonymously sourced to "multiple high ranking administration officials." Let's think - Anybody recently let go or quit that might wanna leak this info? Multiple somebodies, maybe?

I think theWaPo story is dead-on, balls Accurate.

Oh, I think it is, too, I'm just looking forward to the time, to the inevitable time, when those "high ranking administration officials" agree to speak on the record.

With Trump as a client....

Trump could make any lawyer seem incompetent with his shenanigans.

2017-08-01 07:04:41 AM
Sekulow is going to be the gift that keeps on giving, kind of like herpes, right? Every time that he goes out there to defend his client, he says something that ends up being less than helpful. How he absolutely went out of his way to say "Trump didn't write it", and was even called out on that by Chuck Todd, is pretty telling, in retrospect.

2017-08-01 07:16:25 AM
A lawyer that lies on behalf of their client?  What is the world coming to?

Of course he was lying, I mean did no one see that his mouth was open while he was talking?   That's a dead giveaway.

My first thought was there was a meeting with all the lawyers, D2S, and Jr. The lawyers said "we gotta come somewhat clean on this", D2S said "why don't we make it about adopting 16 year old Russian girls? So it is written, so it is done." and the lawyers convinced him to tone it down to just "adoptions".

Espionage, not treason. We're talking about lawyers doing lawyer things and law stuff. The correct legal term is espionage.

This story about the response being crafted aboard AF1 with Trumps involvement has been floating around for a while. I recall hearing something right when their dumb response was shown to be a lie within hours of Jr. dropping the emails.

The Russians got all pissy about the magnitsky act that put sanctions on a bunch of kleptocrats so the Russians made the Yakovlev law that barred Russian children from being adopted by Americans.

2017-08-01 07:49:39 AM
That meeting wasn't only about intel on Hillary. The Russians' goal was to lay the groundwork for the repeal of the Magnitsky Act. William Browder testified in front of the Senate last week over this meeting, and his testimony has not received coverage, especially here on Fark. Browder's testimony should be the beginning of the end for this administration.

Browder testified about the adoption angle, and what Putin did is tragic. It's bad because the only children that Russia allows to be adopted are the sick and disabled children in orphanages who would otherwise be neglected and live a harsh life. From what I understand, no healthy children are ever allowed to be adopted by Americans. So basically Putin uses the neediest kids as pawns.

The Russian Lawyer lady (whose name I can't remember, spell or pronounce properly)?

She reportedly had been active, prior, lobbying to lift that particular sanction - plausible reason to use for a meeting that included another agenda entirely.

Who does she work for again?
