Link farkied for me, but our internets have been dicey in this 677897088 heat wave in CA.  Is it just me?

How would that even work? The White House Chief of Staff isn't in the chain of command and is a civilian. You could appoint a general to the position, but then he couldn't really be a general anymore. You already get to order the Chief of Staff around as your subordinate, Donald, and you can fire him with zero repercussions or oversight. Appointing a General doesn't give you more power over the position.

At least we'd finally find out which general is his.

General Kushnerinski?

Why does Trump have this idea that all the generals secretly love him and want to work for him?

It's the great General Gazoo.  Only Trump can see him, but Pence pretends to see him as well.

For a draft dodger, he sure has a fixation on generals.

2017-07-28 12:47:43 PM
I don't think Trump is the sort of person who will ever notice that every person who is actually willing to work for him is, um, somewhat less than 100% qualified for the job.

2017-07-28 12:49:50 PM
The president, the Times reported on Thursday, has so far focused on Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly as a potential replacement, though advisers believe that would be a bad move.

When has that ever stopped him?

I bet he could at least get a Sergeant...

The question is whether there's a possibility of a military coup to remove Trump, and then how would we get rid of the military coup.

Don't laugh, I'm serious.

There are a lot of different opinions about the role of the U.S. military.  But one thing everyone agrees on:  they know who's in charge, and it's not them.  I don't want to mess with that in any way.

OH this one.  Yeah.  He really likes multi tasking family members and retired generals.  Deep down inside Trump is a man whore pussy

General Disorder?

No, you idiots! He said he wanted General Hospital next, once Fox and Friends is over.

2017-07-28 01:09:02 PM
If would be great if he got a general. A general understanding of what the president does. A general respect for the office and the constitution.

f*ck you, Donnie. You suck at this.

I hear that general Gaius Marius is a real up and comer

I think you summed up why Trump likes "his" generals so much.

It's amazing that this man is so vile that he can make me feel slightly sorry for douche nozzles like Sessions and Pubis. Very very slightly.

He doesn't give a shiat about military expertise or discipline. He likes the idea of having a general in place because as commander in chief he actually does lord over him in a slightly more tangible way than he does Priebus.

The shiatbag wants to be a junta dictator.

Rience Priebus is not a wartime consigliere.

Just imagine the implosion if he got a General, who then decided to become trans.

Guys, what if he's just thinking it should be a general because it's called the Attorney General?

It's not like it would be a surprise.

That's pretty much it. Remember that he wanted a military parade in honor of his inauguration.

Welcome to trumpland. I mean, we knew it would be chaos, which is terrible. On the other hand, the GOP has total control of the government and can't get anything done, which is good. That said, trump is already trying to declare himself king, which is terrifying.

w/ the transgender stuff he said he spoke to "his" generals. i thought they were the army's generals. and I'd like him to name them.

Honestly, this isn't how you get a dictatorship. There are enough Senators who aren't scared to stand up against the Orange Menace. Last night's defeat proved that. He can install all the admirals, generals, and captains he wants. No one takes him seriously. He's a (figurative) dead man walking.

Nah, you get a dictatorship by voting for rapist psychopath who tells the American electorate "I could go out and shoot someone on 5th Avenue".

Congratulations, you 63 million Americans. You won. You got what you voted for.

2017-07-28 01:22:05 PM
I dont see what is dictatorial about a general being placed as chief of staff.   I also do not see how a general would be able to have the base knowledge to be chief of staff whose real job is to just know who is who in Washington.

We only need a coup if he had control of things, such as the military, and we needed to remove his organization. He doesn't, so we don't.  He's just one guy.
A few well placed words to specific individuals would suffice.

Ok, phew, thanks for the reality check, I'm over it now. Schadenfreude taking back over.

I got fired from my last job, but I was about to quit anyway when we signed Koch Industries as a client a few days before. Being out of work has been a blessing while all this is going on. I get to really focus on it and watch it happen.
