Trying to mix club cricket and national team cricket doesn't really work, what as all the nation's best players play for clubs.

The sanctioning body for cricket in the US is so corrupt it makes FIFA look like ... er... um... a not-very-corrupt organization of some kind.

Seriously, they've been suspended by the ICC like 4 times in the last 10 years.  Rigged elections, financial improprieties, you name it.

Do they suck as badly as our soccer team does?

Baseball is to cricket what formula one racing is to a guy on one of those 1880's bicycles with the gigantic front wheel-- at least baseball doesn't take a tea break and last for days...

Think about it. With soccer, at least there's an infrastructure. There are leagues for kids in middle school through college. There are experienced coaches and trainers, and dedicated playing spaces. With cricket, at best there are some club teams or rec leagues in areas with lots of South Asian or Caribbean immigrants, who are still small minorities in the US. I suppose this is all counterbalanced by the fact that most of the countries where cricket is popular are fairly poor, but cricket is the premier sport in those places, so their players have the resources they need to play at their best.

O'b'jeezus yes.  You're talking about a sport where there are 2 venues in the entire USA that meet the barest minimum to be a sanctioned venue.  Every single current player was born outside the US and wouldn't be anywhere close to making the roster for Pakistan or the W.Indies.

It's beyond Jamaican Bobsled team territory into Georgian Olympic Luge competitor in a bowling tournament range.

OTOH, they need to wear a mitt to catch the ball. And well, their throws have to only be kinda accurate to get an out.
