Doesn't matter, they probably don't have a government rate. Can't have the proles fraternizing with the upper echelons of society.

If we had a decent President, our President would have made this an executive order on day one, to show the people of the United States that he's not in this for the money.

But instead...

Well, any elected official with ethics would already avoid that. So yeah, a law would be needed to stop them.

Jesus Christ, would you actually be fair to the President for once?!

I mean, the guy set up a blind trust...well, kind of a blind trust.  Yes, ok, he owns the shares, but it's not like he has any say in the operations.  He handed all of that to Don, Jr.  And the President has nothing to do with the organization . Well, other than a couple of regular meetings where Don, Jr. briefs.  But it's not like the President can take any profit from...well, ok, he can take some profit from the organization, but um...wait, who the hell leaked that info to you?!  That leaker has committed a GRIEVOUS offense!

I tried to channel my inner derp, but as I was writing about how he wasn't accepting a paycheck, I started to drown in the whatever it was I was throwing up in my mouth (more than a little).

This.

Donating to a world-renowned and respected charity = "pay for play"
Putting money directly into Trump's pockets = [crickets]

Wouldn't that be a Bill of Attainder, which is unconstitutional?

Calamity Gin: Wouldn't that be a Bill of Attainder, which is unconstitutional?

No, as it is not a law declaring some particular person a criminal. In fact, it would pass constitutional muster due to the Interstate Commerce Clause.

Only a traitor/Trump supporter would have a problem with that bill.
