The internet suggested 78.  They ignored some.  They decided upon 4 and sampled 4.  Not science.  Subby must be drunk.

78? There's only one margarita recipe.

Of course, a lot of people (mistakenly) believe that a martini can be made with vodka.

I blew out my flip flop,
Stepped on a pop top;
Cut my heel, had to cruise on back home.
But there's booze in the blender,
And soon it will render
That frozen concoction that helps me hang on.

I think the Limey & Tart was closest to my recipe.  Nothing better on a hot day.  Well, maybe a mojito with mint from the garden...

Time to go to Costco and replenish the stores.

1 part tequila
1 part triple sec
1 part lime juice

Make the part as voluminous as you need.

I like this... It's not a true margarita-- technically it's a tequila daiquiri/gimlet, but unless you have decent triple sec, just skip it... DeKuyper-type stuff is awful.

Just READ the article with your eye-holes next time.  The science was in clustering the 78 recipes by their ingredients and ratios into groups and then finding a mid-point for each group that would represent the nearest average of the ingredients and ratios.  That's math.  They ended up with 4 recipes that represented those groups. It's not really "best" but through that method if you found you liked one group representative best or worst, that could lead you to conclude that your taste leads you toward one type and away from another, and your own personal favorite would lie in that direction.

Tequila gimlet is a good name for it.  I'll use that going forward.

Fu*k it. A bottle of whatever and some pre-made mix. That'll do.
