"mother of all battles"

Glad to see 10 years later he's back to the same bullshiat bravado
2002-01-10 12:25:23 PM
Be afraid, be VERY afraid.
2002-01-10 12:25:53 PM
This article wins the "Most Needlessly Long Article... EVER"
award. This could have been summed up with one sentence. Iraq thinks its tough, but isn't; Preparing to talk shiat and get massacred.
2002-01-10 12:28:06 PM
New mommies are usually prettier.
2002-01-10 12:28:46 PM
"We must prepare for the mother of all battles," said Hussein, "Which means, of course, that the other battles were merely the siblings and offspring of battle that has not yet taken place. This new battle, which we need to prepare for, will be more maternal in nature - more nurturing and less disciplinary than other battles that we've fought in the past. It will be forever remembered as World War Mom."
2002-01-10 12:34:46 PM
This would have to be the step-mother of all battles, or maybe the uncle of all battles.
2002-01-10 12:35:35 PM
"We will win the new battle, if anyone dares to attack us," he said.

2002-01-10 12:39:13 PM
Oh you Americans! You're so desperately arrogant now, but it was funny watching you scatter like frightened sheep when the Anthrax came to town...
2002-01-10 12:39:52 PM
Ok, how long before Rei shows up and launches into the whole missile argument to hijack the thread?
2002-01-10 12:40:27 PM
OH NO! Iraq is "taking steps." Yikes! France, please save us.
2002-01-10 12:42:37 PM
Im more worried about Iraq's trading partners than I am about Iraq.
2002-01-10 12:43:07 PM
suuuure, goatman...we "scattered"...(not sure what the fark you are talking about, but you seem to need more of whatever med the docs have you taking). TrolliacD is it?

(back to work here)
2002-01-10 12:45:07 PM
You would have shot your own mothers to get out of the way when that lot was about.
2002-01-10 12:46:08 PM
Bush's father couldn't finish the job.
What makes you think He can?
2002-01-10 12:47:21 PM
In a related story: France surrenders
2002-01-10 12:49:08 PM
Hey Goatman-

I don't think we scattered "like frightened sheep when the Anthrax came to town". I would love to see how Edinburgh or Glasgow (which is it?) would react if some nut was sending virulent agents through the Royal Mail.

As for Iraq, we rolled over Afghanistan in a matter of weeks. In the Gulf War we frigged up Sodom Insane & Co. in a matter of days. I'm predicting this one will last a matter of hours.
2002-01-10 12:50:53 PM
Goatman- In this instance, regarding Iraq, I think we have some cause to be arrogant. We gave Hussein 6 months to prepare, then even told him the day we'd attack. Fat lot of good that did him.
As for scattering when the anthrax came down, What? It was in the mail, nad only a little bit. I don't think anyone went screaming for the hills. Or did you mean the Trade Centers collapsing? Wouldn't you run? And yet, many didn't run away, they ran towards. Do you think you lovely Brits were standing around watching the pretty planes drop bombs on you in WWII? Do you think they didn't take cover from the buzz bombs?
If you're trying to dredge up some pro-American flag waving, you'll get it. It's not much of a challenge.
2002-01-10 12:50:54 PM
who gives a shiat. I hope they start droping bombs soon, so business will pick up.
2002-01-10 12:50:57 PM
Well, if he really wants us to, it's not that far from the current campaign.
2002-01-10 12:51:18 PM

One man's opinion - Your witty exchanges with Harmonia notwithstanding, the whole America bashing thing is a bit tired. Is your range really that limited?

Well, off to the links. Sunny and 70 here today, suckerrrs.
2002-01-10 12:51:20 PM
F.UCK em all... Nuke em and Bulldoze it over... "Next?"
2002-01-10 12:52:32 PM
Goatman-And you Brits have done what in the past 100 years? Take a deep breath, look around you, and thank every arrogant American you see that you aren't speaking German right now.

We didn't "finish" the job in 1991 due to United Nations agreements on NOT killing political leaders.
2002-01-10 12:53:38 PM
Why do people complain about American bashing yet don't give a single thought about the bashing of other countries?
2002-01-10 12:54:00 PM
I was pretty blasé about the whole anthrax thing, myself.

I suspect most non-soccer-mom folks felt the same way.
2002-01-10 12:54:24 PM
You didn't "frig up Saddam & co"! You dropped a few bombs, shot your own men and ours, then went home claiming victory!

Saddam just holed up the entire time - you claimed you knew the size of his undercrackers, but you couldn't seem to do a thing about it! Shut that nonsense up.

As for the Anthrax - of course we'd react the same. It's the posturing that's funny, though: "Oh we're so tough! We can kill anyone (as long as, like, they only have a pop gun and a car to fight with and live in the desert)!"

"Er... what about the Anthrax?"

"Shh! Anyway, where were we? Oh yeah - we're so tough..."

2002-01-10 12:56:31 PM
Goatman: why are you such a dick?

The next war against Iraq will be fought with one bullet.
2002-01-10 12:56:50 PM
G(l)oatman: if you're US bashing weren't so predictable, you might actually be interesting

...nah, never mind
2002-01-10 12:57:05 PM
Jobe: Sod off. We've been through that, and we all know it's thanks to the Russians, actually.

You tell everyone the same - the Aussies, "You'd be speaking Japenese.", Europe, "You'd be speaking German", piss off. It's like me saying say thank you for the town names, language and vague semblence of culture you have over in America.
2002-01-10 12:57:33 PM
Hahahahaha, ya see, Goatman you are confused. I would expect you would realize what "scatter(ing) like frightened sheep" as we hear all the Scots do is fruck sheep all day long (and apparently goats). In reality (that means the real world, where you don't seem to exist), the majority of Americans realized they were safe from Anthrax as it was contained to areas of government occupations. hahah, sheep indeed, that's good.
2002-01-10 12:57:57 PM
Glenlivid: For the same reason you are, probably.
2002-01-10 12:58:23 PM
We didn't "finish" the job in 1991 due to United Nations agreements on NOT killing political leaders.

Unless of course we label Sadam as a terrorist and not a political leader(Which he probably is). Then we can kill him eh? What ever floats your boat guys.
2002-01-10 12:59:14 PM
Oberon: The Scots might do indeed. I wouldn't know.

So, that means that next time it'll be confined to the government occupations, will it?
2002-01-10 12:59:43 PM
> who gives a shiat. I hope they start droping bombs soon,
> so business will pick up

Post-war economies are an illusion, really. There's a temporary upswing, which eventually is brought down by debt payments incurred during the funding of the war. Many times, the upswing will even be absent, as it is brought about by a heightened feeling of security, something we're not likely to get any time soon.
2002-01-10 01:01:42 PM
Turnabout being fair play and all that:

The UK - where 400 years of colonization, murder, rape, and theft conveniently gets foisted upon the USA once the British Empire falls apart...
2002-01-10 01:02:35 PM
Hey goatboy you seem to forget about WWII who was it that pulled your asses out of the fire then?
And if you think about it were doing it again or do you think terrorists will leave little england alone?
I doubt it seeing as you are our allies your probably 3 or 4 on there list.

2002-01-10 01:03:20 PM
I am thinking he is saying that because we are very close to finding his cache of weapons of mass destruction. Whether we are just protecting our own interests or merely being the world's policemen, I wish these stupid countries would just chill the hell out. These guys wouldn't be nearly as militant if they were just allowed to have a beer.
2002-01-10 01:04:14 PM
Actually...America did very little during WW2 in relation to fighting in Europe...
2002-01-10 01:04:27 PM
Didn't Orwell talk about the dangers of having wars that never end? Was no one listening to him?
2002-01-10 01:04:33 PM
Oh and WWI
2002-01-10 01:04:46 PM
Granted, attacking Iraq was no glorious Falklands campaign. Damn we're impressed! Also glad to know that the US did so little to help Britain in WW2. Maybe if we didn't spend all our resources bailing out foreign whiners everytime a tree falls in their country, (so they can live to biatch about us another day) we could update our schools' history books. Anyways, thanks for setting this stupid American straight.
2002-01-10 01:04:57 PM
CARLLEE/others: See above, you illiterate fool.
2002-01-10 01:05:37 PM
Didn't do much in WW1 either...
2002-01-10 01:08:47 PM
So the economy is on the decline? Go to war! It always helps. Also, ignore Goatman264, he id just trolling. I bet he actually loves his Yankee cousins.
2002-01-10 01:09:36 PM
G(l)oatman: sorry, thought you were fairly intuitive, my bad
2002-01-10 01:10:28 PM
I'll just try and clear up a few points about WW1 and WW2. People are saying how America bailed out all the other countries, in reality, America did SFA...

In WW1, America was selling arms to the allies and the enemies (Germany, Turkey etc). Only when Germany stopped buying American arms (due to the British naval blockade) did America declare righteousness and actually join the war. The same happened in WW2. America held a firm isolationist policy against fighting a foreign war. And when they did go to fight, the war in Europe was practically over...
2002-01-10 01:10:36 PM

Again you are demonstrating your hypocrissy. In other posts you blast the U.S. for using it's military might to often and to forcefully, and now you claim we arent very powerful. If we weren't powerful, you wouldn't feel the need to bash us, would you?

You're kidding about that temporary upswing, aren't you? You have to be. Sad as it is, war is about the most profitable business there is.
2002-01-10 01:10:57 PM
"Our star-spangled Union Jack flutters so proud
Over the dancing heads of the merry patriotic crowd...
Tip your hat to the yankee conquerers,
We've got no reds under the bed,
But guns under our pillows,
We're the 51st state of America"
2002-01-10 01:11:38 PM
I must say- i'm getting a little bit sick of having patriotism shoved in my face everytime i look at a pizza box or my chinese food containers.
2002-01-10 01:13:25 PM
I thought that was actually a prety good article. It's not often that Iraqi opposition groups are even mentioned.
2002-01-10 01:13:29 PM
