Yep, and it reminds me of a note from school about my then 3rd grade son playing hooky from school while I was at work. Little stinker "signed" it using my nickname, not my legal name and I ended up getting a phone call from his school. He lost his bike for a month after that, plus the school punished him by taking away recess for a week since they didn't do in-school detentions in elementary schoo.

That handwriting is obviously from another student. You know what that means. Somebody's moving in on my turf. Probably that Eric bastard from the fifth grade. I sell quality notes for $5 a piece and this Eric guy undercuts me with that shiatty handwriting for a PB&J. fark you Eric. I'm coming to your house to beat up your dad.

Ha ha ha, no.

Usually "The" is used as a middle name as in Winnie The Pooh or Attila The Hun

2017-07-17 05:10:21 PM
Things that make me suspicious this was made by first/second grader:
1. Use of ampersand
2. Correct use (including comma) of a conditional clause
3. Lack of oxford comma
4. Only one misspelling tossed in at the end
5. Ipod
6. Signing it "the school"

2017-07-17 05:19:39 PM
I don't feel so bad over "signing" my mom's name on a note I got from the school back in first grade.

2017-07-17 05:19:49 PM
If that were my kid, I'd follow the note's demands.

Make the kid stay up all night, preferably for several nights in a row. See how long it takes him to beg for sleep.

Also the entire concept is incredibly stupid, even for a first or second grader. This is the kind of lie that a four or five year-old might come up with. If a kid is still coming up with such absurdly unbelievable lies at seven then something is wrong.

Yes, the term "theory of mind" seems applicable here. It's what makes for a good liar, and it begins to develop in preschool age.

It's basically an understanding of what other people know and will believe.

Yeah, Reddit's made me really cynical/suspicious of "Karma fraud" and it's equivalent on other sites.

I used to write my parents notes like this when I was very young, as a joke. I knew that they weren't going to fall for it, but I wanted to get them to laugh about something and maybe if it was funny enough they'd let me get what I wanted. It did work on a few occasions.

Look!  E-sports is a multi-million dollar industry, and if he doesn't get practice now, how's he ever going to be a champion?  Do you want him to go the rest of his life knowing you killed his one and only dream?

Man kids are really phoning in the excuses these days.

What ever happened to reading a notice in your teachers binder describing a communicable bug going around, while she was out for (presumably) a stress cig, and then perfectly faking the symptoms to score a week long gaming session?

/mastermind at age 7
//parents have both explicitly cursed me that they hope if I ever have children they'll be just like me.
///and with my luck probably triplets.

Back in the BNC coax connector days of networking, a bunch of us got together right after work around 6pm Friday. We hooked up about 8 of us set up in various rooms of the barracks and had coax running up and the the barracks  (with coax network wire helpfully provided by those of use who worked IT. Thanks Army!). We rotated between DukeNukem3D, Command and Conquer  (the first one), Doom, and Warcraft. We played from 6 fri night until about 12pm Sunday. Stopping only for food and bathroom. 6 only stayed on into the 2nd day, and only 3 of us were left by Sunday. But it was one hell of a gaming session.

Could be autism.  Much more advanced grammar skills for his age, but not fully developed in other ways.
