last week that 31 workers at Reno Norden in Stockholm have called in sick and 46 people have quit their jobs. Most of the 29 people told to return to work are part of the latter group

So 29 people who quit their jobs have been told to STFU and GBTW?

I had a confused.

WTF?  Stockholm has a population of 1 million, plus inbound commuters.  You need a lot more than just 30 people to do garbage collection.

well, the trash has to go somewhere
it's not like having it right outside is all that different from having it in a hole in the ground 10 miles away

In order to clean something you have to get something else dirty. It's so pointless!

What, the subby didn't link to a Des Moines Fox News site, quoting verbatim an unattributed Bloomberg article based on an AP news clip, but rather linked to a Swedish news site about a Swedish story?

What is the world coming to?

Nicely done, subby.

One thing I remember about the power going out in the Midwest was how it got people out of the house. Maybe this is similar.

But tragically we were already losing the war on Twisted Sister Albums, I mean I couldn't go anywhere without someone offering me a quick listen of TS (as the "hip" kids called it).  It got so on every street corner there was someone with a boom box offering you a nickel or dime of TS, the streets were just not a safe place for women or children.

I thought the scourge of Twisted Sister was gone, but just the other day I heard some on the radio of all places!  Where is the FCC?  What about the children?

Letting a small group of already well-compensated public employees violate their contract and the law and take the entire air transport sector of the economy hostage isn't in the "interest of Americans". They called his bluff, only he wasn't bluffing.

Hi guys what's going on in this thread?

Patty would be impressed.

Geez, all they've got to complain about is a festering pile of garbage taking over their city? The US is #1! We've got a festering, stinking pile of garbage running the country.

Which would do more damage to society: Aliens abducting all the lawyers, or aliens abducting all the garbage men?
