We needed a poll for this revelation?

We don't even have a president, really.  We have an extremely expensive nursing home resident who has shown little interest, or ability, to carry out the duties of president.

He grifts, he golfs, and he insults people.  That's what he does.

Personally, I enjoy the downward projection of his slide. The amazing thing is that he's not in the teens already.     If it wasn't for all the bogus right-wing media, he'd probably be done.

I could see Pence getting reelected if it came to that but Trump? I'm not sure.

Aside from stealing a Supreme Court seat and ruining our reputation internationally, he hasn't even farking done anything yet.

If Congress really does manage to pass a wealthcare bill that takes health insurance away from over 20 million people, that's when his popularity will hit the teens.

Or if we get real, unequivocal proof that Trumpy colluded with the Russians to steal the election, even Fox might turn on him. If that happens, all bets are off.

If I can attend 4 years of high school without a real principal, this country had better be able to cope for a term without a real president.

Re-elected?  I doubt the man will see the end of his first term.  Even if johnny law doesn't sproing into action soon enough, his own temperament will give out.  He'll quit.  He's in it for the adulation, and even Fox News is starting to turn on him.  That's not going to improve, that's only going to escalate.  He's a 71 year old man who always got his way, suddenly in an environment where he cannot ever get his own way.  He'll snap.  He'll cave.  He'll blame everyone else for his failure, but the failure is his.

I don't understand why people say this with such certainty. It reeks of the same odd mental phenomenon where people swear up and down that some crappy sports team is going to win. Of course, they are wrong most of the time, but that one time they're right, they crow about how they knew and no one else did.

Trump BARELY won last time around. It was really a quirk more than anything else. Had Hilary not been a Clinton. Had she been a man. Had Comey not released that crap about the Wiener e-mails. Had the Russians not done their thing. Etc., etc.

In addition, a lot of non-derper/lean-derp whites gave him the benefit of the doubt. They won't a second time.

Barring massive voter fraud and/or a voter suppression campaign like we've never seen before (both a real possibility in my mind), Trump will never win a second term.

You didn't even factor in the many, many people who did not vote in 2016, and now see how farkin well that went.

Good point. A lot of fark political tab commenters don't seem to get how many Americans pay basically no attention to politics. For those people, it seemed legitimate to claim in early November 2016 that there was little difference between Trump and Hillary. More of them will see now that that is not the case, especially if the GOP healthcare law passes.

Now, I'm not so naive as to believe that many of those people will actually vote. But just a few 10,000s out of 60 million might be enough to swing things.

2017-07-16 07:11:36 AM
2016 ruined any faith I may have had in polls.

This could just be GOPhers saying that they disapprove, just as they said they weren't going to vote for Trump.

We saw how that worked out.

Just saying, take it with a canister of salt.

One place where Trump has improved his numbers is with republicans.

The last time this ABC/WaPo was conducted 18% of republicans disapproved of Trump's conduct.

This new poll says only 9% of republicans disapprove of Trump's conduct.

...and that's why most republicans in Congress won't act against Trump.

Now that you mention it, Trump's face looks grey but it looks like he's wearing an orange shirt with a blue tie.  He still looks like he has sickly green hair though.

I hope they stick with him and it costs them tons of seats next year.  I'm not surprised, Republicans have no standards for their own.

People who conduct polls

obviously don't have souls

.

Statistics are a joke, I hear

Unless they are used by a chemist, doctor or engineer

.

And, the question that mislead are pretty clever,

"Is Trump doing a good job?" as if it is possible he isn't doing the best job ever

.

Statistics used by left-wing minions

will never sway me from my crackpot opinions

.

Be careful, you'll be labeled a 'Fark independnt' forever of you point out valid criticism of Democrats.  I voted Hillary but, that isnt enough if i point out she isn't perfect and ran poor swing state campaigns.  I hate the GOP platform but, they win elections because millions of people do.  Fark leans left and thats fine by me but, we arent great about embracing/listening to the other side here.

Normally my general pessimism and disillusionment over the stupidity of the average person would mean I would agree with you.

But I actually think next election--if the country survives that long--will see a reaction against Trump like nothing America has ever seen. There won't be any fence-sitters next time. Even among Trump's supporters, the novelty will be gone.

Yes, I think a grand correction will be in the works. The only thing that could stop it is flagrant voter suppression and hacking of vote counts.

His first action was to try to allow gays to serve in the military, which didn't go over well in 1993. Followed quickly by the problem in Somalia, which Bush I had kindly instigated during the transition.
