(Action A Go-Go)   It's time to celebrate the man who brought martial arts to American cinema for the first time. That's right, it's time to celebrate ... Spencer Tracy?   ( actionagogo.com) divider line

I used to like this site.  But how can you continue to take a site like this seriously, dedicated to movies and genres as it is, when they're so mind-numbingly, carelessly stupid?  Tracy started out his career playing tough guys (Up the River, 20,000 Years in Sing Sing),and the closest he came to having anything to do with The Philadelphia Story (an acknowledged classic with Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart) was the fact that he was banging Katherine Hepburn.  Action-a-go-go, I am disappoint.

Bad Day at Black Rock has a helluva cast. In addtion to Tracy and the early roles for Borgnine and Marvin, there's Anne Francis, Dean Jagger, Walter Brennan, and Robert Ryan as the racist asshole who runs the town.

Trivia: Tracy's role was originally offered to Alan Ladd.

Two things that one guy is showing a lot of bottom biscuit
The screen shot for the next video appears to be for an early erotic film.

After reading that I went into the Wiki Wormhole myself:

Spencer Tracy's co-star, Walter Brennan, was a far-right conservative who clashed with Tracy over politics and who later thought Nixon too liberal.  Brennan supported John G Schmitz, who was too extreme even for the John Birch Society - Incidentally, co-founded by the father of the Koch Bros  Incidentally, Schmitz was the father of Mary Kay Letourneau late of Fark for her Cannabis-related (or not) divorce from her child love.  But wait, there's more: Mary Kay's brother, Joseph worked for Blackwater and was a member of Trump's foreign policy advisors. The ties then between Blackwater founder Eric Prince to our current education secretary are well known

Seconded. It's just a really really damn good detective-drama movie. Unpretentious and nearly flawless.

This is bullshiat. TFA claims to celebrate Spencer Tracy bringing martial arts to the movies for the first time and then mentions IT ISN'T - the Mr. Moto series is.

Peter Lorre did it first.

I watched The Caine Mutany the other day, Lee Marvin played a grimy sailor by the name of Meatball, a year earlier than this.

Lee Marvin and Rober Ryan made some great movies together.  The Iceman Cometh, The Dirty Dozen and my favorite Western, The Professionals.

1953 was his big year. He was in The Big Heat and The Wild One.
