Time for Mueller to step up his timetable a bit, or at least drop an enormous bomb that is so toxic, no one will support Trump ever again.

From TFA-
In 2005 he joined the private firm King and Spalding, where he defended white-collar clients and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie during the infamous Bridgegate scandal.

I swear to God, I first read that as "pirate firm" King and Spalding .

Trump is way behind loyalty oaths now.  He now requires a video recording of you being pissed on by a prostitute.

Well, if he was able to get Christie off, Trump should be a piece of cake.

There is no bomb that enormous.

So, FYI, one of the attorneys at my firm knew Wray when he was at K&S. Apparently he's a pretty straight shooter, and has the chops on paper to fill the position - worked as a federal investigator before going to K&S to work on the defense side. I'm willing to give this one the benefit of the doubt. For a bit, anyway.

While the piss tape makes for good press, my money's on Trump being set up with a Russian underaged hooker that looks like Ivanka, and the whole thing is in pristine HD.

That, along with the financial leverage, would most certainly explain his fealty to Putin.

We shall soon find out.

He's as good as confirmed. Needs 50 votes.

We're done here.

I'd say with the deflection out of the White House yesterday, their preemptive "don't trust foreign sources/news", republicans and Fox with their "collusion isn't illegal" and all that, coupled with the usual Twitter "far left" saying that the IC was buzzing...that we will get something decent by Friday.

Thanks for posting that.

You can be sure that at his confirmation hearings he will be pretty much forced to committing himself on his position regarding the special counsel. If he really is a straight shooter he won't have any difficulty stating that he won't interfere. And if does say that his confirmation is pretty much a done deal even if the Republicans are pissed by it.

However I believe that Mueller does rely on FBI assets to carry out the investigation.

Regardless, the position, the investigation into Trump, and Trump's history means that I could never support anyone selected by Trump.

I don't know Christopher Wray. Which type of Trump crony is he, crooked billionaire or disgraced former GOP figure?

After roughly a year of digging by a special prosecutor, congress,  and the media with the help of anonymous leakers, there is no evidence of law breaking.

Just like people did with Gorsuch. Nope, never again. The fact that he's willing to be associated with this administration means that he's a) scum, and b) probably balls deep with Russia.

Christopher Wray worked for a law firm that had as two of their clients Rosneft and Gazprom the Russian Oil and Gas giants respectively. There is still a Russian connection. Snirt.

Oh and he also worked with James Comey at the Justice Dept.

I'd be more worried about those Jersey mob connections he's got from Christie.
