I'm gonna be honest, having been to Myrtle... I feel like this type of thing happens A LOT either going there or coming from there.

Well that was dumb.  Who goes 20 over with that much contraband?  It's like having a roadie and doing 10 over.  Ill advised.

The three teens were headed to Myrtle Beach - with 3.3 ounces of marijuana, 2.6 grams of cocaine, 18 liters of liquor, 50 liters of beer, drug paraphernalia and $3,600 in cash, according to Sheriff James A. McVicker of the Bladen County Sheriff's Office.

OMG they had $3,600 in cash total between all three of them! Confiscate it! DRUG MONEY!!! TAKE A PIC OF IT!!!

The last time I checked cash is not illegal. Just over $1,000 each for a week in Myrtle is not a crazy amount, plus they all just graduated, so that's probably graduation money. How nice of you to take it all.
Tiny amounts of drugs and the drinking age should be 18 anyway. Are you an adult at 18 or not? Can we make a decision? Right now there is none.

How else do cops make money if they can't rightfully steal it from the citizens they serve?

A press release said the officials discovered the three teenagers had just graduated from high school Friday night in Manassas, Virginia, and were going to meet a group of their friends for the trip in Myrtle Beach. The release said 10 teenagers planned the trip a year ago and pooled their money together.
The teens were identified those arrested as: Michal Joan Berrios, 18, Lorenzo Dominic Cota, 18, and Cristhianna Ismael Ortez Flores, 18. All three were from Manassas, Va., and were each charged with violations that included underage possession of a alcohol, illegal transport of alcoholic beverages; possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver marijuana and cocaine and felony possession of marijuana and cocaine
Berrios was placed under a $28,300 bond, Cota received a $43,000 bond and Ortez Flores was placed under a $27,000 bond.

Manassas VA, yeah, with a bunch of cash and drugs? Call the FBI, they're MS-13

And they all moved away from me on the bench there, and the hairy eyeball and all kinds of mean nasty things, till I said, "And $3,600 in cash." And they all came back, shook my hand, and we had a great time on the bench, talkin' about crime, mother stabbing, father raping, all kinds of groovy things that we was talking about on the bench.

When breaking the law it is advisable not to break the law.  Meaning If you have pot and coke in the car (illegal) a lot of booze (under 21 illegal) DO NOTsmoke pot in the car while exceeding the speed limit.  Because that what gets you caught.

They did a really nice job of arranging all that stuff on the table.

That was pretty much a standard party setup post graduation before college, then through college. Heck in some states (except for the coke) that is all just a ticket, not 30K bail. They should have known to give the drugs to their white friend to transport aka the car that didn't get pulled over going the same speed they were right behind.

Oh come on like you never had any fun with anything illegal ever in your life? Not one drink underage? maybe some underage or illegal use of fireworks? never a speeding ticket? As long as they weren't high and drunk as hell while driving, I think we have bigger issues. Dump the drugs and booze, write a speeding ticket and send them on their way is what they would have done in my town when I was that age.

I have a lot of sympathy for good kids who are at a party where people are drinking heavily -- it happens, just don't drive home. I have some sympahy for high schoolers who get caught with a joint -- ok, you knew it was dumb, but you didn't hurt anyone.

I have no sympathy for a group of teens who load up a car with booze (a LOT of booze), marijuana, cocaine, $3,600, and then speed 20 over the limit. There's too many bad choices all rolled into one for it to be a simple accident from a good kid.

Not once.  I don't even like alcohol now.  I tried it at 21, but don't understand the appeal of drinking something that tastes terrible.

Is Charlotte on the metric system, Brit system, hybrid or mood-driven system. And what's with spelling litre as liter. Is there no affectation anymore?

Or did each cop contribute a little to make the bust more "believable." And each of those things came from a different place and were weighed and measured at different time.

http://norml.org/laws/item/north-carolina-penalties-2

Maybe not, but the penalty in NC for possession of between 1 1/2 ounces and 10 pounds is the same whether the possession is for personal use or the use of others (3 to 8 months imprisonment plus a fine).

Come on, kids, a lot of you have smartphones these days.  It's easy to look up stuff like this.  Possession of half an ounce of weed or less is very nearly decriminalized in NC ($200 fine).  You got greedy and stupid, and look what happened.

Here is where it all ends. You're young, dumb and full of cum and decide to blow the dust off the rafters on a well supplied beach adventure. Problem: under age drinking, drugs in the car you or your buddies are using to get to the beach. Some anus decides that doing 75 in a 55 is a good idea, OR, it was a sudden speed change (known as a speed-trap). Typically, those speed traps are a good source of income for small towns near highways. Some Barney Fife hit the jackpot. Arrested. No banana stand to be had now.

Yeah, that criminal record will keep you from getting a student loan (a government backed, or granted fund). You will not find a high paying job since background checks are so easy.

Anyway, boys, welcome to the rest of your crappy lives. God bless America.
