Hopefully a drop in prices for beer, bourbon, etc.  I'm fine with weed being legal.  Why when it is finally becoming legal is there this whole weed vs booze argument still?  People who want to smoke you are getting what you want.  Enjoy the social change.

I'm not complaining or arguing, just curious : why the "asinine" tag?

2017-06-21 10:24:22 AM
The booze that stoners and stoner-wannabees drink is not the booze that I drink, so this doesn't affect me.

OBVIOUS tag!

Sales of Cold Duck has remained stable so you probably won't be seeing a change in price or availability.

Big Pharma will also be greatly impacted.

Maybe not.  Soon the Big Booze execs will be selling apples on the corners, and the distilleries will become the haunt of spiders and homeless people.  Then where will you get your fix?

Why would this be surprising?  Naturally some people will try something new or different to get a buzz.

I'd be surprised if overall spending on booze and weed were less than previous booze spending.

It's not like stills and brewing are exactly secrets. If prison inmates can make hootch on kitchen scraps tucked in a toilet tank, I think I might be OK...

As an alcoholic, I find it really farking stupid that they use the term 'alcohol use disorder' instead of alcoholic.  The term alcoholic carries with it a certain onus that does not need to be avoided or softened because it's a serious issue that destroys everything in its path.

Local breweries & distilleries can adapt to a shrinking market, I think.  Big Booze isn't needed.

Perhaps you shouldn't be so hasty to "correct" people; "less" is fully appropriate in both cases. For the first case, there may be just as many drivers, but they will, on average, be less drunk. For the second case, there will still be assholes roaming around, but they will be a lot less violent.

Yeah, but if you mix them you end up consuming much less of both because mixing them will put you on your ass much quicker than one or the other.

If it was done right, it just might be possible that a pot infused beer could make some brewer richer than Bill Gates.

Because Sessions has significant investments in AB InBev?

The tide and condoms amuse me especially for some reason - but let's face it, I've met plenty of people doing some smoking that could damn well do with some clothes washing - and the condoms yeah I can see some stoner going "Oh man, I forgot"  "Call delivery!"

There must be some other people here who back when they used to smoke pot didn't have the munchies and had no interest in sitting on a couch watching TV.  I used to always want to go for a hike or go ride my bike or do something active.

I just wish it was federally legal so I could stop killing myself with booze and have a light puff now and then.

The findings provide further credence to a December 2016 report from the Cowan & Company research firm which determined that beer sales by major distributors - including Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors - have "collectively underperformed" over the past two years in Colorado, Oregon, and Washington. In Denver, arguably the epicenter for the marijuana retail sales market, beer sales have fallen nearly seven percent, analysists concluded.

In the case of Denver, it may be that Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors are losing sales to good local beer.

The research shows that potheads on average are skinnier and fitter than juiceheads.
