No one has ever smoked weed at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Period.

Last time I smoked weed at an outdoor concert I accidentally stepped on a guy's head on my way to the bathroom. My friends were like "Did he die?" and I was like "What am I, a doctor?"

Last concert I was at here in L.A. was in a non-smoking venue.  Solution?   Edibles/vape or, in my case, rent a hotel room that close by and blaze up before the show starts.

Yeah I'd think most if not all venues are non-smoking these days. That's the law you'd want to look into.

Yep. In Seattle, recreational pot is legal, but god help you if you smoke within 25 feet of a business. Hell, even my apartment is non-smoking, which my wife lives because cigarette smoke is a migraine trigger for her.

I wish the rest of the country would legalize pot. Oregon and Washington only need so many database admins!

The Goddamn Batman: No one has ever smoked weed at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Period.

One of my exes repeated a story about being stoned out of his mind at a Stevie Ray Vaughan show at Merriwether and didn't remember the show itself. Then SRV died the next year and he stopped smoking bc he blew his last chance to see him.

That and he went around discussing how it should have been Eric Clapton.

Seems like a dumb thing to blame weed for but what do I know.

It'd save billions on the borders, dumbass.

You can't legislate morality, said the liar Attorney General...

P.S. I believe the Attorney General of the USA colluded with the Russians to sway the election towards Drumpf. Big mistake. Perhaps dumb politics plays a role in southern politics and millionaires' games, but guess what, scrutiny/karma is a biatch, no?

P.P.S. American people win here, b/c the stink of shiat is in the air, and surprisingly, as an olfactory species, we clean shiat up...

Right.  No one thinks about the law.  No one ever didn't pursue acquiring a substance because it was illegal.  Deterrence doesn't work.  Prohibition doesn't work.  No one considers the consequences of possible actions.  Get rid of all laws,  Free the people. Laws work.

Laws legislating a person's right to inhabit themselves and construct that reality how they see fit? Sacrosanct.

Republicans like to claim freedom, but yet they like to crawl up my ass too...

WTF?

Get OUT of my ass, Republicans. You might have a hang-up. You can't be for freedom and restrict my free speech, my free assembly, my right to unionize, my genitalia, and my right to adulterate my body, biatch. You are cognitive dissonance embodied in legislative dysfunction. Grow the fark up.

I'd like to know where all these devil-may-care venues are. As soon as someone complains, you're toast, especially if it's a *gasp* cigarette.

Funny you live in Chicago, you guys adopted no smoking in venues way before a lot of other places. I was at the Navy Pier for a concert in the late '90s and thought an employee was joking with me at first when he said "You can't smoke here" BECAUSE IT IS OUTSIDE!!

Here is the thing though.  Legalization would save billions upon billions of dollars across the country.  The lawmakers don't really care about saving money on anything.  Not just weed, but anything at all that costs the government money, they don't care at all if the money is saved.

What the care about is that when the government has to borrow the money, that the "right" people get the money when it is spent.

Its a very simple to figure out.
Pot is illegal under federal law.
Until the constitution is amended federal law wins over state law.
Pot is illegal in all states.

College dropout actually.
The supremacy clause of article VI places federal laws over state laws. For state laws allowing pot to be valid in spite of federal laws banning it that would have to be changed.  Quick question what is it called when you change or amend the constitution.

And on an early comment...defunding prosecution of a crime does not make the act legal.

So there I was with a free ticket to see Peter Gabriel at some outdoor venue in northern VA. They were lawn seats which I was ok with so I packed a J and put it into my sock...

I get to the venue, wait in line to show my ticket and looky, looky there's a policeman with a drug sniffing dog coming my way. I knew I was sunk because the J was in my sock and at the right height for the dog to sniff..
I'm 3 people away from showing my ticket and getting in without the dog coming my way...I'm nervous as hell.

Finally I get to the ticket ripper and I get in, The dog and cop were right behind me...I escaped into the crowd..."whew" I said to myself...

As I get to the sidewalk there's a fence, then the outdoor lawn and wouldn't you know it there were policeman posted against each fence nearly 20 to 50 feet apart and they had cops walking around through the lawn with flashlights all night long.

Needless to say I wasn't going to light that J during the show which was a bummer. It was the LAST concert I've ever attended.

Did that concern you? Harlee detects an undercurrent of concern in your words. It must be the Debil Lettuce Paranoia, because Harlee does not understand how anyone could be concerned about armed, trigger-happy sociopaths wandering around in a crowd of concert goers simply out for a good time.
