Didn't that happen to the same water park a couple years ago?

Also, I'm not surprised Big Surf Flush caught fire, what with the ancient turds and black water still probably floating about. I honestly thought it had been closed and condemned years ago.

There are a variety of reasons I would not want to live in the American Southwest, and the temperature is not the least of them.

With global warming/climate change, Phoenix is likely to get a few degrees hotter than it already is.  And probably drier, too.  It'll be quite a joy to live there.

I'm in Tucson and we're a bit warm, too. When it gets to be a heat wave here, one of the greatest weather guys ever used to simply use gfx of flames to represent the great state of Arizona on the map of the US. Creepily accurate with all the wildfires right now. The sun looks funny thanks to the smoky haze lurking about.

Phoenix is supposed to break a record tomorrow for hottest June 20th ever, and just a couple of degrees shy of the hottest temp ever recorded there on any date. 120-121 degrees.

Having never been there, I can only assume that all of Phoenix is littered with water parks. Can't walk down the street without tripping over one. So your potential perp list could get pretty long.

Got to 104 here in silicon valley (Mediteranian climate) yesterday and stayed there for hours. Drought's over, so I put the misters back up, cranked them to 11 and continued drinking.

AC goes on in the house in Mpls when it hits 80. West-facing brick house gets all the afternoon heat so even at 80 outside, it's roasting inside.
I am assuming most everyone in AZ has AC....or how do you keep cool?

Same here, my pool is 88.1 right now - hottest it's been all year.

To all of the "ZOMGWTFBBQ! How do people live in Arizona!" people, that's the secret... we hibernate indoors during the day or hang out in the pool.  It's awesome sitting in the pool at 10pm sipping a beer.

I mean.. uhh... it sucks.  Stay away.

Or park in a garage.

Yes. Yes it is.

Next time you really, really, really need to go, let forth upon a flat rock.

When it's 110+ out, you're lucky if your A/C can manage to keep your house below 82.

On the hottest days I'd take a hose outside and soak the roof & exterior walls for a while to drop the indoor temps a bit

Your house sounds poorly insulated with an undersized HVAC system.

Yup. Down south here in the place of thunder we made it to 106. That was bad enough, I feel bad for the people in PHX.
