(The Hill)   The real story about Megyn Kelly's much ballyhooed interview with Alex Jones was not whether or not she should have done it, or how well she did, but that despite all the controversy and pre-interview hype, almost nobody tuned in to see it   ( thehill.com) divider line

Stigginit?

Alex Jones has over 1 million subscribers.  So does MattyBRaps.  Both are appalling, but only one made it on television Sunday.

What I can't figure out is why any news anchor is worth $17m/year.  Not saying journalism isn't vitally important, but what is Kelly doing that justifies that kind of paycheck?

Good. Neither of those people should be listened to at any time.

2017-06-19 01:33:36 PM
What they needed to do was conduct that interview with the two of them in Spandex and both of them throwing folding chairs at each other.  I would tune in to watch that.

2017-06-19 01:57:09 PM
3.5 million viewers while low for network, is about on par with a lot of cable news opinion programs.

2017-06-19 01:57:12 PM
In a better world Alex Jones is down by the docks giving Haitian fishermen $3 Reverse Llama Squats to raise money to mimeograph the next edition of his newsletter.

I haven't gotten news from TV in close to15 years and I'm not about to turn back now.

They put her up against 60mins anyone that would be a news show on sunday night will be watching 60 mins.

2017-06-19 02:16:22 PM
I didn't bother. There have been a few threads about it as well, but this is the first I've commented in. Why? Who gives a fark about Alex Jones? Why give a loon more of a platform than he already has?

And they all came away thinking exactly what they thought when they tuned in.

optikeye: They put her up against 60mins anyone that would be a news show on sunday night will be watching 60 mins.

to add a little wrinkle to that though, the 60 minutes episode from last night was a re-run. so basically more people wanted to watch that specific one again then wanted to watch her brand new show

That guy isn't fit to help raise his own offspring. Why should I waste my breath listening to what he has to say?

I watched the sweat on Alex Jone's forehead. Like millions of dewy mushrooms sprouting to the light of truth on bed of pink horse manure.

He's crazy and I dont really care for her

I'll catch it on youtube sometime

Maybe she can boost her ratings by interviewing David Icke next.

2017-06-19 04:30:32 PM
Kelly seems to be floundering without her audience of brainwashed old fogies

Megan Kelly and Alex Jones together on screen? I wonder why no one tuned in!

What were they thinking? The only people who might watch are the people who believe his shiat, and it was obviously going to be a hit piece, so ... what? Did they have commercials for Glenn Beck's latest scam and Mike Huckabee's latest scam? Maybe one or two commercials for the amazing shrinking hose that will absolutely never kink?

The timeslot seems to be wrong for this news format.  5 or 6 pm on a Sunday.... nobody is going to watch that.  60 minutes only survives because they have been doing it for years upon years upon years.

When did they used to do all of the Barbra WaWa's shows?

Fark no, who the fark would want to give the time of day to that blithering asshole?

That was the point of why Kelly shouldn't have set up the interview in the first place.
