Maybe this will spur some discussion about why the environment and environmental regulations are useful. Let's hope it bursts into flames next. Isn't fishing less fun when all the fish are dead?

I'm sure there will be a thorough investigation.  The source, likely a corporation, will be identified.  There will be an appropriate punishment delivered by the free market, who will no longer purchase products from the offending company.  All will be right with the world.

No! I've been assured that it would require Marijhuana in order to be toxic.

Sorry, but Scott Walker immediately comes to mind. And yes, he is a Republican, farked up shiat pretty badly, and he survived a recall election because the Koch Brothers poured money into it.

Thanks for asking.

How much money you got? It's like Milwaukee Jr.: you got trust fund babies and lawyers and docters on one side, a smidgen of middle class housing, and minorities and poor on the other. But you are a half hour drive from never being bored in any direction. Also, the water is full of bad stuff and and getting lower and are trying to get water from the Great Lakes water shed, but Canada is having issues over that.

It's not a terrible place to live, but not my first choice of city. Try Pewaukee if you can afford the commute.

How is it? The city itself is meh, the entire county surrounding it is Establishment Suburban Republican Central, and because they're on the wrong side of the subcontinental divide, the water situation is dicey. Not to discourage you or anything.

The Yahara drains farmland north of Madison. Probably farmers spreading manure on the fields.

Republicans gerrymandered the fark out of this state in the aftermath of the 2010 elections. They have both houses of the legislature and the governorship. The US Supreme Court is actually now hearing a case on whether Wisconsin's gerrymandering is unconstitutional.

Grew up there, and parents still live there.  City itself is fine, and schools are pretty good. Like any city of its size it has good areas and bad areas. There's been a push to revitalize the downtown over the last 10-20 years, and there are a lot of free and low cost community events worth checking out, like free concerts during the summer.

The main concern, as someone else noted above, is the water issue, which effects most of southeastern WI once you get away from Lake Michigan,  but Waukesha is the largest of the effected cities.    Waukesha has been trying to negotiate access to water from Lake Michigan for the last couple of years but its been a struggle. Here is the water utility's FAQ on the issue

Just like the western basis of Lake Erie, having one of the top 100 largest cities in the country have water that couldn't even be boiled for 3 days was enough to move even our Republican state legislature to put some evil regulations on farmers. The thing that gets me is if they're having major runoff they're already doing it wrong, they're paying for fertilizer that's quite literally just getting flushed.
