Is it really that brave?  Compared to all the things much more likely to claim a 97 year old man's life at any moment a hundred story drop seems rather pleasant... if messy.

Also, some of us really just aren't bothered by heights, and the lanyard attached to his harness could probably hold up a medium sized sedan.  Now if he stared down a spider I'd say we should give that guy a medal of honor... even though he's not military... or American.

shiat, man, 97 is the best time to do shiat like this.  If you fall and go splat, you've lost, what, a few months of expected lifespan?  That's nothing, well worth the rad obituary and giving the neighbors something to gossip about forever.  And if nothing goes wrong, obviously, it's just as much fun as it would have been at 27.
