Who'd want to pay the required taxes to hire the battalion of Marines and all the armored vehicles to patrol an average Saturday Afternoon at Chuckderdome?

I would assume it's black people signing the petition?

Probably more an acknowledgement that stressed out parents with kids can be horrible to each other.  They want to go someplace where the kids can entertain themselves for an hour, plop their butts down, stress eat, and then return to their horrible lives after a few hours.  In reality, they find themselves and their children in a free for all of unsupervised kids and other stressed out adults who are also looking to blow off steam.  No one gets more riled up than a stressed out parent who's just been told that they're a stressed out parent.   It's just a recipe for a brawl.

My stressed out parents would just dump us at a local boys/girls club and go off and do who knows what.  We played pinball, pool, played in the gym, swam in the pool, all semi supervised by semi-caring employees.  It was perfect, there were no stressed out parents on the premises.

Went to my nephew's Bday party at Chuck E Cheese and the staff was just there to collect a paycheck, multiple kids vomiting then running off to play on the games including my nephew.  I didn't touch anything there and still managed to get so sick I was hospitalized for a day because of how much I was omitting and the intense pain I was in.

My Dad comes into the room to check on me and he suddenly starts to vomit in the hospital sink.

Chuck E Cheese can go to Hell!

What the fark is this world coming to? How on Earth can there be "problems" at a chuck-e-cheese?  It is one of the most inoffensive places around.  The particular one involved in this case must be in a really horrible area and/or have a bunch of dope fiends living near it.

You forgot to add in that they sell booze. It's the spark that sets it all off, especially in instances of where you have separated parents meeting for a child's event.

From K to 5th grade we lived in a blue collar, town and that's exactly how my parents handled it.  In 5th grade we moved to a town that was a little higher up on the socio-economic scale.  The new house was near a giant shopping mall, county park and movie theater.  Since it was a fairly good neighborhood there really was no such thing as street crime.  During summer vacation my parents would give me a couple of bucks in the morning, I'd hop on my back and wasn't expected to be back before dinner time.  No helicopter parents, no constant checking up on cell phones.  Growing up in an American suburb in the 70s was great.

Maybe they don't want a bunch of white people showing up in their neighborhood, wearing sweater vests and khakis, trying to get their kids hooked on tooth whiteners.

Where is the line between racist vs classist?  I believe in every race you will find the "trash" sub group that is uneducated, aggressive, classless and typically poor.

I dunno, I'm sure there are nice ones but the first image I think of Chuck E Cheese is a hellhole that breeds trouble. A bunch of unsupervised children+a large chunk of custody issues+an alcohol license=trouble. I bet if you asked any police department that has one in their beat they'd tell you how often they have to go to them.

One has to wonder, even if it's built, how is this a real problem for the neighborhood? If one wants to avoid the CEC brawlfest, simply don't go there. Or do they expect it to be come a headquarters for roving bands of marauders like some cheese-fueled road warrior event?
