Because poor people complaining about flagrantly unsafe conditions isn't EXCITING enough for the media. Sure, coverage of those concerns could potentially lead to those concerns being addressed, but avoidable tragedies are good TV.

Not just that. As much as I understand the concerns of these people... There are lots of people concerned about lots of things. It's hard to know which of the concerns need the most attention until something blows up, literally or figuratively.

Snow might be technically correct.  He was brought to Winterfell as a baby.  Is it where you were born it where you were raised that counts?

Sand is for Dorne. It's location rather than parentage based.

Yes, the bastard surname is given based on region  and given by the father, if he chooses to acknowledge the child. So, Snow.

Although the Targaryens had given up on polygamy by that point which does undercut the theory a bit.

That would be absurd. What they could do is pay at least a little attention when communities raise legitimate concerns.

Show or books? Because the books have one, but I think he is most likely a red herring.

Jon Snow is a very dignified British TV newsreader with the BBC.

But his alter ego is the schtick he does on a popular British celebrity panel quiz gameshow, The Big Fat Show, where he reads a cryptic decision of a popular song and the celebrity contestants have to guess the name of the song. Not only does he wear some pretty sharp ties, he also dances, which is very funny because he has the dignity and the gravitas to make shaking his tail feathers really hilarious.

With a cast consisting largely of British comedians such as Richard Ayoade, David Mitchell, Noel Fielding, etc, Jon Snow can hold his own as a comedian. It is the dead pan seriousness of the man.

I always say that dramatic actors make the best comedians, and clearly it is true of very serious and professional news anchors as well.

Tyrion: Let me give you some advice bastard. Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you.

Jon: What the hell do you know about being a bastard?

Tyrion: All dwarfs are bastards in their father's eyes.

I can totally understand the anger of former residents at the media as well as the Prime MInister and politicians, but Jon Snow is the wrong man to blame. It is not his fault their concerns were not covered by the press with the force and seriousness that they deserve. He is not paid to do the kind of investigative or muck raking stories the tower deserved. He is the anchor of one of the BBC news programmes. The stories only get to him when they go national or global.

Except for pop music, of course.

Taking the world at face value, yeah, he'd work. From a narrative structure standpoint, though, I don't think he makes sense.

There is also plenty of foreshadowing for Tyrion even if I don't think it's nearly enough for the size of the "twist" that would be. Especially for the second major character to have the exact same twist.

That's right, Daily Kipper, use this to make the "elite" media look bad. When did you bother repiorting on this?

And whosr loyal readers were on social media cheering as people who looked like they voted Remain were being burnt alive?

I'll admit that I spent a good few seconds wondering who Remain was.

What makes you think R didn't pay off a maester to marry him and J at the beginning of Robert's rebellion?

It wouldn't be the first time a Targaryen had multiple wives.

Also I have a feeling it wouldn't have been a maester marrying them, since L (I'm assuming you meant that) was a worshipper of the old gods.

Yeah, L, sorry. I doubt with his influence he'd have a hard time finding someone to perform the ceremony. It's just a guess though, who knows?
