Turn the group into a novelty act. Replace Glenn with William Hung.

Nope. Not gonna work.

Now, if we're talking about getting the Travelling Wilburys back, with Clapton filling in for George Harrison and Chris Issak filling in for Roy Orbison...That I could probably get behind.

Vince Gill is a monster guitar player. Not sure (and don't care) how well he'd fit in the Eagles but he can absolutely bring it on guitar.

I've got two words for Don Henley: Joe Walsh

The Eagles aren't a shiat band, they just never knew how to end their damn songs. They always went on at least a minute past when they should have faded out.

Eagle Prairie League?

Pure Prairie Eagles?

The Eagles died with Glenn Frey. Jackson Browne did a great job standing in, but it ain't the Eagles.

Speaking of Frye, does anyone have a good fish taco recipe?  Especially for the mayonnaise-like dressing they have in MX?  *runs*

I doubt anyone needs the money, so this sounds like something to do rather than sit at home.  Gill has already worked with Henley, so they can get along.  Finally, I'll give Henley and others the benefit of doubt in that they'd preserve their legacy and never perform again rather than bring in a hack to take Glenn's place.

IMHO, putting out a YouTube of a rehersal session might put a lot of minds at ease.  You'd think either "Hey, that just might work after all!" or "Aw, HELL NO!".  They'd be smart in using the feedback to decide whether to continue or not.

...It's not the worst idea I've ever heard. Of course, Bernie is probably shaking his damned head at the idea, but still.

Vince Gill is known today as one of the most successful country music recording artists of all-time and has been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, but before all of that he was a member of the country rock group Pure Prairie League for a brief while. In the late '80s he began a solo country career that took a little while to take off, while he was struggling he was asked by Mark Knopfler to become a full-time guitarist for Dire Straits. Gill, hoping to eventually find success on his own, turned Knopfler down. Success would soon come for Gill in the form of 20 Grammy Awards.

The Eagles were, quite simply, the greatest and most iconic American band in history. I finally saw them on their "History of the Eagles" tour a few years back and they brought the house down. There will never be another band quite like them. Hating The Eagles is basically hating America itself.
