I was lucky enough to play with minor threat in 1982 at alpine village in Torrance, CA. The bill was my band ( the detonators), the zero boys ( from Indianapolis-- members went on to form another great band called Toxic Reasons), MDC, Minor Threat, and the Dead Kennedys. Dave from MDC says it was the best bill and show he's ever seen...
I went to a nearby liquor store with Ian And Brian Baker. They bought candy bars and I bough beer and got the stink eye from them..

I was going to make an "old news is so exciting" post... but this old news is, um, actually pretty rad, man.  Thumbs up to subby on finding this one.

I was listening to Rites of Spring this morning. That album is still incredibly powerful and amazing to me.

Before I clicked on the link, I thought the article was going to be about a surge of "ponycore" on Bandcamp.

/ponycore is awful.
//happy hardcore was tolerable, but then the weeaboos ruined it for everyone with their shiatty nightcore.

Dag Nasty "Can I Say?" still one of the best albums of all time.

I've liked Minor Threat since my teens in the 80s. I followed the members after they broke and was reward with Fugazi and Dag Nasty. I even went and saw Brian Baker live with that hair fiasco Junkyard. Thanks for the article, subby.

This is cool, I guess, but Dischord stuff has been on eMusic for over a decade. Don't know if Dischord pulled out during the stretch when they started offering major label stuff like Merge did, but I remember getting Dischord stuff there a while ago.
