Cruise was a long-time hero of More FM host Simon Barnett who was upset

Anyone who holds Cruise up as a personal hero needs to suffer.

Are all Australians this tough and resilient?

If I were an FM morning-show host who received an out-of-the-blue call from my childhood idol promising an interview, my first thought would be that it's a prank. How hard is it to look up Tom Cruise's agent or whatever and verify?

Either these guys are too naive to be allowed out on their own, or else fake poutrage is fake.

So on one end of the Australian toughness spectrum we have Gallipoli, and on the other end, whatever this is.

Sam Baxter was pushed to tears, devastated it had all been a lie.

One wonders how the poor dear would handle a real problem.

From a comment shown in the article:

"That would explain why Tom Cruse sounded so controlled and with little personality in the interview."

Sounds like the impression was spot on then.

the fact that the conversation didn't begin and end with "praise xenu" didn't tip them off?

So when Cruise hears of this he'll probably grant an interview hoping the good will and publicly will put a few more butts in the seats of all those empty theatres showing the Mummy.

I don't know if it's really worth crying over, but it's pretty unprofessional. Time is money on radio, and they really just cost this other station a big chunk of both. Even competitors usually have a sense of professionalism and don't do the kind of thing that cold get the people on the other team fired...

Like I said though, not really worth crying. Over.
